About this item

  • SBR provides good abrasion resistance
  • 70 Shore A means the material is hard for good resistance to surface penetration and wear
  • Color is black
  • Smooth finish

The black SBR rubber sheet is 70 Shore A and has a smooth finish. SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) is a synthetic rubber that provides good abrasion resistance. A hardness measurement of 70 Shore A means the material has a hard surface for good penetration and wear resistance.

Rubber is a strong, flexible material that provides good insulation and shock absorption. Some types of rubber may be weather or chemical resistant and withstand high temperatures. Wear resistance is the degree to which the rubber resists abrasion. Hardness is measured with scales Shore D, Shore OO, and Shore A, which is the most common scale. A higher number means the material is harder and more resistant to penetration. A lower number means the material is softer and more flexible. Tensile strength, used to indicate the material’s overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks.

This strip is perfect to replace the bumper pads that hold the RV shells when closed. Easy to cut with a builder's knife and appear to have the correct density for the job - someone installed their pads a few years ago and recommended. The photo shows an old worn out pad and two news ones that I cut for the install.

I expected a solid block of rubber. This is laminated, not solid.

This sheet (more a strip actually) is a great way to replace worn hard rubber pads on my travel trailer.

Excellent thick rubber that can be cut to size. I used it for non-slip surface underneath loudspeakers. Works perfect!

According to dial caliper, strip was 2.121" wide, 0.46" thick. There's a slight taper/curve to it, thick-wise. Nice and strong, doesn't really compress too much. Should be perfect for my use, which currently involves making durable rubber "feet", among other things. Arrived coiled in a plastic bag.
