Smallrig new version cage for GH5 are excellent and it is perfect fit. This new version cage have 2 M2 screws that screw the cage into the camera strap hinge. This cage look good and feel nice in my hand. Took me so long before I decided to buy it. I don't know why I did not buy sooner. A must have for video shooters

Für alle Besitzer von Pana G9,passt Käfig gut mit zwei Anpassungen.Karten-Schacht-Klappe kann man nicht ganz offen,habe einfach ein wenig von Schräge abgeschliffen und wieder lackiert.Sieht super aus und hat nichts von Festigkeit und Funktionslität verloren.Befestigung Kamera oben am Käfig passt nicht,aber SmallRig hat es noch eine Loch mit Gewinde(2,5 mm) etwas höher gebohrt auf beide Seite und mit etwas Geschick kann man Kamera seitig festschrauben.Genial von SmalRig.Akku-Schacht-Klappe passt prima.Zugang auf Taste für Einstellung,Display zu ablesen und Auslese Knopf ist frei.Von Qualität und Festigkeit sollte man nicht in Verdacht bei SmallRig Käfig kommen.Erstklassige Ware,aus dieser Grund habe ich dieses Käfig gekauft,Obwohl wusste daß für G9 nicht empfohlen wurde.Neewer und SmallRig sind einfach Klasse für sich,bei denen Preis/Leistung immer stimmt.

Getting a camera cage was essential to setting up my Panasonic Lumix GH5 Camera rig. There was only one company that kept coming up, SmallRig. The price for value was great, seems like it should cost more. It has a solid construction, sturdy and super easy to put on the camera. I love that can be loaded with acessories and (Mic’s, Field monitor, battery packs, Grips, lights and even more. I am very satisfied with this cage, no downside.

This cage I put on my GH5, first model, and it is great! The idea of moving my microphone to the top, right side of the camera body was what I was looking for and this does that. Built in cold shoe located above and behind the video recorder button allows a microphone on that mount while still able to get your face to the eyepiece normally, (not being stabbed in the forehead with the back of your additional mic). A couple of things to note:**The on/off switch on the GH5 is slightly under the frame and if you’ve got thicker fingers it can make it a little tough to switch the camera off.**The cage attaches to the bottom AND the side strap connectors. It comes with a tiny set of screws that go through the strap holes and comes with an allen wrench. Don’t lose that wrench if you need to take the cage off!This cage has threaded holes everywhere so you won’t have much issue finding connection points. The bottom threaded mount even comes with a little magnet screwdriver thing that stays underneath the cage, on a magnet.Very functional item for the LUMIX GH5. I like it!

Im pretty much satisfied with a smallrig anything nefore I even buy it...which probably isnt fair. But their products are always well thought out, high quality, well built and affordable!My GH4 doesnt quite perfectly fit but Im upgrading to the GH5ii soon so it doesnt matter. It has NATO rail attachment on left only and ergonomically wraps around on the right. Feels perfect when I use a side handle mounted on the left.It is aluminum and light and seems to have mounting points for anything you want to attach.

Veste alla perfezione su gh5 e offre un sacco di possibilità se si devono agganciare accessori alla propria camera, l’ho preso in combo con la maniglia sempre smallrig con attacco arri e l’accoppiata per me è vincente! Leggero, pratico e resistente. Oltretutto con 3 punti di ancoraggio la camera non renderà a ruotare sull’asse delle x (cosa che mi succedeva sul altri cage) Smallrig è una garanzia e lo consiglio vivamente

Nice cage with plenty of room for attatcments and still keeping all the ports accessible. Only minor is the fact that its a bit harder to turn of the camera, since it protects the switch. Still more than doable, and is only a minor inconvenience.

When I first saw camera rigs I wasn't convinced as to why you would need one. Extra weight, a bit more size and more expense.After reading a few articles I thought I'd give the SmallRig version a try. After a few weeks I don't know what I'd do without it. The ability to attach peripheral devices such as handles, monitors and panel lights and position them exactly how you want is a godsend.The rig is well built and allows access to all ports, battery and memory card slots. The only slight criticisms are that it is difficult to turn off the camera, the remote socket is slightly restricted for angled plugs (specifically for the cable supplied with the Zhiyun Crane Plus)and the extra height can cause interference with the back of certain gimbals with my GH5 but these are minor issues that can be worked around.My biggest issue is that I can't stop buying additional SmallRig accessories to add to the setup!

I have been using this product line for some time. When I upgraded from my GH3 to GH5, this smallrig cage was my only choice.Sturdy with plenty of mounting points, I have attached handles, mics, lights, arms and monitors. The threading of the bolt holes are well made and the anodized powder coating is sturdy and not easily scratched off.The camera sits snuggly inside and doesn’t come loose easily. Worth every penny

The Rig is well built and sturdy, Small Rig has excellent quality. But there is a design flaw, it's near the on/off button. The shape of the bar makes turning off the camera a little cumbersome as the metal bar runs too close to the switch. One has to turn off the camera by applying unnatural force to the switch, which increases chances of breaking it as the switch is plastic. I am surprised that other reviewers did not notice this as this can be a huge problem if occurred. Other than that, the Rig is excellent.

I've been using a half cage I put together from SmallRig parts. I had a tall rod for the support so I could raise the top plate. This allowed me to use a quick release plate on the camera because I would take it out of the cage a lot for shooting stills. However, now I have a separate still camera, so the GH5 can stay in the cage permanently.It is solid and well machined, and surprisingly light weight. I also got the wood handle for one side, and I put a nato plate on the top so I can add and remove a top handle for low angle hand held shots.Overall I've found SmallRig products to be excellent and fairly priced.

Great design on this cage. My biggest concern was fitment. This cage fits perfectly. It's not snug to the body and I wouldn't want it to be, as that could cause damage or wear on the body over time. All of the dials are accessible as well as all ports and doors. Has mounts for metabones support as well which is a huge plus! The added mounting options on the side and top give me the ability to rig this up quite well. There's a cold shoe on the top left that could be used for a mic or wireless receiver. I plan on adding another cold shoe on the right side for a mic and use the left side for my wireless video signal.Overall, I'm very happy with this cage. The grip is partially affected by the right side so if my hand ends up being more fatigued due to this, I'll add a NATO rail and a NATO mounted side handle.Cheers.
