About this item

  • Unique 'Small Ear' Design: The mini filters easily pick up fingerprints when handled. We utilize a unique 'small ear' design for easy handling, reducing the likelihood of finger contact with the glass
  • Filter 1 Effect: The 1/4 black diffusion & ND16 & CPL filter effectively softens the light, prevents overexposure and minimizes reflections on non-metallic surface, enhancing overall image quality
  • Filter 2 Effect: The 1/4 black diffusion & VND filter combines a 1/4 black diffusion filter with a 2-5 stops variable ND filter, creating softened light while enabling smooth exposure control in varying lighting conditions
  • Filter 3 Effect and Screen Protector: The 6-point star filter can produce brilliant starburst effects in the image highlights. The tempered screen protector offers durability and clarity, effectively protecting the screen from scratches
  • Multi Coated HD Optical Glass: The filters are made of high-definition glass with a dual-sided coating. This includes nano anti-glare coating, light absorption coating, and anti-smudge, waterproof, and hard-coated AF coating for easy maintenance and added protection against mold, water, and oil
  • Perfect for Pocket 3: You can change the filter in just 1 second with its magnetic design. Each filter weighs 1.5g, making it lightweight. Its magnetic positioning, weight, and shape are perfectly compatible with the Pocket 3, ensuring convenient storage without any hindrance
  • Note: Our filters are not recommended for stacking during photography. This set includes one 1/4 black diffusion & ND16 & CPL filter, one 1/4 black diffusion & VND filter, one 6-point star filter, and one tempered screen protector

I'm a SmallRig fan because most of my experience with their products have been generally positive. They are now no longer the underdog when it comes to photography and videography gear, but their experience shows in every product I've purchased and owned. This set of diffusion filters is not something I was expecting to be available for the Pocket 3, but I'm so glad they made it.Diffusion filters help soften up the scene just a tad bit while still retaining sharpness. This can really help make certain scenes more dreamy and also wipe away some skin imperfections (I've used diffusion filters mostly for photography).I will post updates about this as I use the filters more - although note that Amazon highly compresses video footage uploaded for some reason, so the effect might not be as dramatic. You know what is dramatic? Being able to use a VND, which this combines. (Variable neutral density filter). Combining the two is special because you can't really stack too many physical filters on the Pocket 3 without potentially damaging the life of the gimbal. My footage will definitely be more cinematic with the addition of these filters.*** This review to be updated with more use of the filters ***

I love this small set of 3 magnetic filters for the Osmo Pocket 3. With two of the three filters having a nice 1/4 Black Pro-mist diffusion added the images come out soft yet pleasing to the eye.The ND16 + CPL combo is great for cutting light/reflections and being that it is a circular polarizer I am able to adjust the polarization effect easily by turning the filter to be able to get clear shots through windows or water. The 2 to 5 stop VND is my goto everyday filter for the Osmo as it allows me to cut down enough light for most scenarios while keeping the 180 shutter angle (1/50 shutter speed at 24fps, and 1/120 shutter speed at 60fps) keeping my footage smooth and cinematic. The 6 point star filter is the one filter that I am admittedly using the least but the cool star effect would make for some dreamy yet unique shots at night and I do plan on playing around/experimenting with this filter a bit more.I like that the filters are able to magnetically attach to the Osmo Pocket 3 and not get in the way of the gimbal when you shut off the camera. The lens element is still able to fold into the gimbal mechanism keeping your lens and filter protected. My one gripe was that although the magnetic attachment was convenient for attaching the different filters I did find it a little hard to remove them without fumbling or dropping them as they are so small/light weight. Overall this is the perfect little set that comes in a nice protective box that can fit into my small Neewer carrying case.

I haven't had much time to try these filters out outside yet, but I can definitely say they fit on my Pocket 3 perfectly. I'm looking forward to playing with them more this spring and summer and fully testing out what they can do. These filters are so cool!

I only needed those two filters and they work very well.

I use VNDs all the time on my DSLR and thought these tiny things for the OSMO wouldn't be great but I actually love them. I would even prefer them to regular ND's as sometimes I need to dial in the exposure a bit more and these offer that. They also stack perfectly on top of each other, which other filters seem to not do well. SmallRig is also a great company and they did a great job on constructing these. The spinning element does feel a tiny bit loose, though it doesn't affect the image or performance at all. Still a great product.

You can always count on SMALLRIG to put a lot of thought and care into the products they put their name on. These filters are no exception.Of the three, the star filter is the most unique--but also the one I'll probably use the least. But it was fun to see what the scene looked like when I attached it and it definitely makes six-point stars on the bright lights on the screen.I also like the idea of the variable ND. It's helpful with a variable ND to not have to completely switch out the filter as outdoor lighting conditions change. But I will admit I never feel completely comfortable or competent adjusting the filter while the gimbal is active. I feel like I need to have the Pocket 3 on a tripod to do this because it feels like a two-handed job to delicately adjust the setting of the filter. (I hope some others can relate. Doing it with one hand can kind of freak out the gimbal. Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong.)The same challenge goes with the Black Diffusion/ND/CPL filter. I'm going to have to spend some more time with this one to figure out how to best make it work for me. The uses for this one must be very specific. But I trust that SMALLRIG knows what they're doing and I just have to catch up.

This is a pretty cool set of filters for the Osmo Pocket. First, they are quality filters that feel solid, snap on quickly and stay put, and offer a variety of ways to improve your photos and videos. They are great for creative photography/videography or cutting light to get a better image. They come in a nice storage/travel case to keep them protected. The black mist filters provide a softer look for portraits or a dreamy vibe, while the ND and VND filters darken your shots or make water look smooth. The CPL is good for minimizing reflections on glass or water. I really the star filter as you can create unique shots at night with street lights, or festive shots during the holidays. They are easy to use and rather simple to remove by using your fingernail to lift up the tab on the side of the filter while it's installed. The magnets are very strong and they tend to attract to one another when putting back in the case. Overall, this is cool set of creative filters to keep in your arsenal. I removed a star due to price. At the time of this review they were priced at $60, which is higher than competitive product, but it does include a screen protector as well.
