I teach art and I was doing a needle felting craft with the kids. They start the project with raw wool right from the farm, clean, wash and then card the wool before we felt it. I do have a good pair of paddles which work great but didn't have the budget to buy another pair of good ones -- so I tried these. They just didn't work as well as the better set that I already had. Should have splurged on the better set. Haven't used any of the other supplies as of yet.

I received the package early which was nice and upon opening I began to wonder if the deal was really a great bargain. Well, I feel the quality could be better, as one of the wooden needle holders has a hole that doesn’t fit any needles making it only usable for two..not three. That was fine I thought, I have others in the package. Then I looked at the “carders” and they are pretty much dog slicker brushes. Actual carders do not have a cushion under the needles and the needles are fine and closer together. I guess you get what you pay for. So overall if you want a starter kit that will get you by then yes this will work. I gave four stars because it is usable and a good bargain. If you want a professional finish on your felting or an easier time with carding wool then look for something else.

I was able to finish my little dog successfully! This was my first project, and it turned out lovely. The needles included in the package were good and sturdy. One broke because I bent it too much, so you just have to be careful and use the finger caps included in the package; otherwise, you might end up with blood on your project. Also, protect your table with an extra cloth, as the needle can pass through.

the brush's are nice and hard, after a full day brushing out yarn for roving, I got to work with the needles the smaller ones do seem to be a bit more willing to bend, then I had hoped for, but the other two work okay.For the price there not at all bad. If you are starting out and want to try this hobby, for someone more advanced looking for new needles, I would say to look else where since the one ya need to get closer to a finishing does do a bit of bending.The finger guards a so small they fit my 10 year old fine lol.

minus the felt, of course XDOnce again, this is another kit I don’t have anything bad to say about because it has everything you need to get started. It even holds all of the products in the little bag.If you do not like felting, this is a good gauge for if you’ll like it or not. And if you do not like it, you can make that decision without feeling like you made a massive investment.This kit is so complete I feel like it’s something that you could easily gift to somebody or even gift to a school for them to try felting with the kids.Again, my only real complaint with this kid is that it does not come with the wall included, but there are other sets linked where you can buy wool from them.

This is NOT a comprehensive felting kit. It does not have roving wool or any pattern to follow.It is, however, a nice re-supply kit for felting if you already have basic tools and roving. There is a thick felting pad, an assortment of needles, finger cots, some flat-headed pins, and carding brushes. I mainly ordered this for the carding brushes, which I don't already have. This is my first foray into carding brushes, but these appear to be pretty good quality. To give an idea of the size, the brush head is about 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" with the actual carding surface about 1-3/4" x 4". This rubber surface is populated with stiff wire bristles very close together. The handles are made of wood and nicely finished.I really like the flat-headed pins included with this kit. The heads are large and will be nice for holding pieces in place while felting them to one another.
