I had to do a bit of plumbing repair in my house recently and it was recommended to me that I get some spanners like these. You know the saying "the right tool for the job"? Well, this was that. These spanners are clearly made for a very specific application, but if you're working with these kinds of connectors, it's either get some of these spanners or suffer and struggle for who knows how long. The metal feels nice and solid and the construction seems well built.

There was a plumbing repair required at my home and these spanner wrenches were necessary. I won't pretend to know much about tools although I do use a wide variety. These did the job and I think that they'll be handy to have around from now on. These were listed at $48.99 . To me they feel more like a $40 dollar set tops but they are good to have when needed!

These work good enough for my home shop. They are not the best of quality but for the money and that it has both pin and hook attachments, it is hard to beat. I'm currently using these to adjust coil over shocks. Having a full range of wrenches is handy.

Sturdy construction. Nice heavy weight. Heads are easily interchangeable. Finishing was good, smooth.

Kind of cheap aisle of circa 2000 harbor freight. There's a lot of play in the hinges and the casting is "good 'nuf". Sometimes, this is the quality of tool you want. Like when you need it now and then it'll sit in the tool chest for a decade or two. In other words, I'm not at all impressed with these spanner wrenches but am really glad to have them ready and waiting in the tool chest.

If you have a wide range of fittings that need tightening when nothing but a spanner will do for various rings and bearings, then you already probably know wrench body thickness and rigidity translate into better torque, and therefore a better seal (particularly for high PSI applications). This is critical for safety since ring or seal blowouts due to improper tightening are to be avoided always, if possible, because of the potential for injury (steam or oil burns, etc.)So these are for those high pressure, high torque situations where a small set of self-setting spanners can't get the job done. Ditto using a pipe wrench or plumbers pliers when what you really need is the proper spanner -- it's a small investment in safety.
