Purchased this gasket as I was in the market for something that did not require silicone and trusted this company as they have been considered a company with an excellent reputation for quality automotive parts for many decades. Researched this gasket on manufacturers (Dana/Spicer) website where it specifically stated no silicone required. Received item undamaged in reasonable amount of time and subsequently installed the same day. Degreased both gasket surfaces with solvent and ensured surface was clean and dry. I installed the gasket with mint straight steel cover and torqued all fasteners in a crisscross pattern in 5 lb. increments with a final torque of 20 ft. lbs., as per GM specification. Refilled differential with Valvoline 89/90 gear oil and added GM friction modifier. The next day I went out to the garage and noticed fluid (oil) on the ground. I subsequently investigated, and sure enough it was leaking through the newly installed gasket. Just to be sure, I rechecked the torque and no fasteners had loosened overnight. Original cost of gasket with taxes was approximately $40, gear oil approximately $20, GM friction modifier approximately $15. So, my time and effort aside, I'm out $75. I rarely write a review this detailed, but if I can save one person from this experience, it's worth it. I ended up purchasing a Mr. Gasket Part #41G01MRG, LubeLocker sells the identical gasket listed as Part #LLR-G12C. No leaks!
