I wanted to us these to clamp my bee hive lids on my NUC boxes so they could be used for transport in the car. Unfortunately my lids extend over the box by about 1/2" on both sides to create a "rain gutter". This overhang makes the clamping hinge not operate correctly and it won't snap closed. I was able to use the u-shaped lip with some bungee cords to the same effect. Works great although not as intended. Make sure your application is aligned directly above the hinge or even slightly inward so the clamp snaps closed and the spring holds it closed.

Woo hoo! Finally a seller who labels their latches honestly!I've bought latches labeled/sold as "stainless steel" from 3 different sellers and this is the only one that really IS stainless steel. I'll be using them outdoors, so real stainless matters. I'm amazed that 2 of the 3 sellers mislabeled their product.Anyway, these are solid, consistent, and real stainless steel. Highly recommend.

Stainless Steel Spring Loaded Toggle Lock Clasp Buckle.I ordered these for a specific project but I can already see that they would be great for all kinds of other purposes. The spring on these is pretty strong and it should hold the latch closed. We have a freezer with a broken door latch. It frosts up easily if not kept closed tightly. I’ll use two of these to hold the door closed and compress the seal. They are stainless steel and seem to be very well made. Comes with little bag of screws. Great product, at a great price.

Our HVAC air handler has a filter door that came with two thumb screws that are used to hold the door in place. They need to be unscrewed to remove the filter door for each filter change. Given the location of the door at the bottom of the air handler up against a support base plenum, it was cumbersome to unscrew them to remove the door, or put it back on. I replaced them with these hasps (one on each side) to hold the door in place and they worked great. This makes it much quicker and easier to remove and replace the filter cover door when changing the filter.
