This sensor works great. Keep one handy if your car has one. It's an easy fix if you do it at your next oil change when the sump is empty. When they fail, you end up checking the oil all the time just to be SURE. I have spent the last several years servicing a small fleet of LT-1 GM cars and trucks and these things go out pretty often. Only ONCE ever had it been a legit low oil situation. An oil pressure sending unit broke, and did it's best imitation of a whale's blowhole. It lost all the oil in about a minute going down the highway. By the time light came on, oil and smoke were pretty obvious so the light wasn't really a help at that point.

After installing this the oil level light remained on all the time. It did not work. I purchased a Delco which works fine. 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Item stopped working within 30 days. Trying to get it replaced through Amazon now. Not an easy process even though it states it has a warranty.

It screws into the oil pan, senses oil level in the pan. Oddly tho, it is listed as a coolant sensor. The part number is found in various other catalogs as oil level sensor. Its all plastic and is cheaper than most.
