The pull start failed on my lawnmower. Turns out the Pawl friction plate broke. Following youtube, was able to diagnose and repair the problem cheaper than buying a new pull start. Also replaced the Pawl Ratchet too.

Used in a an Troy-Bilt Generator with a Briggs and Stratton engine. Original problem was not because these pawls were broken. It was due to the cover holding the pull coil was loose (missing bolts) and these pawls got twisted up inside and we actually lost one.

I used these pawls as a replacement on my Exmark Turf Tracer HP which has the Kawasaki FS481V engine. The originals were wearing out which caused the pull start to jam up. These were identical in shape to the originals and are currently functioning well. Time will tell if they are going to last but so far I am happy!
