If you have an older model bike, the shift cables are a heavier gauge and will not thread though the eye bolt. Fortunately, I had not thrown away the old cable shift anchor so I was able to attach the eye bolt from it onto the new assembly.

I could do without it, but it is harder to hookup with other parts. Shimano does not make these.I use these on two three speeds.
