The stick itself is fine, and is just like any other Eclipse II out there. However, the mesh is not the greatest quality and is quite short, not allowing for a great pocket.

FYI, boys and girls LAX both use the same goalie equipment, so if you're looking for a girls goalie stick you are still in the right place.It is definitely a good stick. It seems like everyone uses this one. Good weight. I think the head could be a little more square for my personal liking, but the girls seem to like it enough. Don't get it and think you'll use it right away in game. It's super stiff. After they break in though, they are gems.

My son loves the Stx Eclipse 2. Has one in white and and a back up Eclipse 2 in black.

Right from the start, my son was able to catch and throw 300% better than with his previous stick. That said, we're still relatively new to the sport. It's possible that we could have gotten better results from the cheap stick by having it restrung. Even so, this stick is lighter, easier to grip, and easier to control.For beginning goalies who are pretty sure they're going to continue with the game, I strongly recommend going with this stick instead of the cheaper one you find at most sporting goods stores.
