It seems as tho all of the no skip master impact socket sets in 3/8” drive which are “no skip” sets and cover both shallow and deep of metric and SAE are missing 2 very important size 1) the 1/4” in SAE they seem to without exception start at 5/16” and for whatever reason in my experience 1/4” is a relatively common size in the SAE world yes it’s a small fastener to be using 3/8” with but it’s not about torque it’s about workflow and ease of use I don’t want to have to grab for a different ratchet, impact wrench or use an adapter to get a hand full of fasteners out of my way I play by the rule brake free by hand first use power tools to speed up the process and start the fastener by hand by a couple of threads and then speed it in with the power tools and set final torque with a good quality torque wrench so having that 1/4” is not so much a concern for over torquing as it is I’ve got my 3/8 ratchets out and 3/8” impact I don’t wanna go digging for 1/4” drive tools and the same on the opposite side of the spectrum is true for these master sets they generally end at 19mm they start at 8mm so in metric world that’s about as small as I generally deal with in a regular basis but my wheel lugs are 22mm the one impact set I had that was a @ni skip set” that goes to 22 or 24 I can’t remember off hand regardless ends it’s 3/8” drive lineup at 19mmmy main impact wrench is an ingersoll Rand 3/8” drive iqv20 W3131 with around 350 foot pounds brake away issue is that the second I stick an adapter that goes from 3/8” to 1/2” drive and stick a 22mm socket on the end it’s a 50/50 shot weather or not that wheel lug is coming off sure it’s a mid torque but I’ve got a Bosch freak with a 2 amp battery that my IR with the 5.6 amp hour battery replaced the freak is a 1/4” hex drive impact driver that has a 1/2” square drive anvil around the hex drive it’s rated at 1800 inch pounds sounds like a lot works out to 150 foot pounds my Milwaukee 12 volt M12 3453 impact driver has 1500 inch pounds that’s 125 foot pounds give or take and the Bosch has never once failed to take off a wheel lug off either of the 3 Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra 1500 series 4X4 half tons from the 07-13 generation I’ve owned in the time I’ve had the Bosch or the 2017 GMC terrain all wheel drive 2.4L 4 cylinder my wife’s had since 2019 which I can say for sure calls for 145 foot pound torque on the wheel lugs the trucks I can’t quite remember the spec but it’s there abouts anyway regardless of that the fact is that im losing so much torque at that adapter joint that my IR is only removing the lugs 50% of the time with almost 60% higher brake away and about the same % higher capacity battery and the issue only exists when im using an expansion adapter to step up with the IR and never to step down with the Bosch the issue grows as the battery levels decrease…..so when I bought my capri master impact set to make everything more cohesive and my workflow improved the issue being that my main need for impact sockets was not included being one of the rare sizes that I need in 3/8” drive and need impact rated in order to avoid any splitting chrome socket issues that become a real possibility at full torque with wheel lugs and having never tried sunex I actually almost got their master set but it was more expensive and had fewer parts and I simply wanted to try Capri the extra extensions and such was also very much a selling point….. but when I went looking for the two sizes that i knew I’d need and that wernt included in the kit I learned that the single capri impact sockets in 3/8” drive were prohibitively expensive in comparison and still wanting to try the sunex brand I came across this particular 3/8” drive 22mm impact socket by sunex for a very reasonable price with their lifetime warranty and high end Taiwanese construction because sorry to all the it has to be American made believers out there the Mac RBRT bits, Bit sockets, Sockets, wrenches, and extractors are all exclusively made by a manufacturer in Taiwan for the Proto, Facom, Mac, and Grip Edge and I believe I’ve found out who it is and what their own house brand is for North America tho that is not important what is important however is the fact that the absolute best Alan and Hex bits/Bit sockets I’ve ever used are made in Taiwan they’ve nailed the whole thing down to a science and perfected it I was never a Big Mac guy because they were just not available where I grew up but where I currently live now I can’t find snap on trucks but my Mac dealer is second to none and although I thought the RBRT was just the latest new mousetrap boy was I wrong …. Still haven’t found ratchets that beat Matco eighty8 or Snap On Dual 80’s aside from the German Hazet HiPer series which in Canada is rare as hens teeth and as expensive as the tool truck brands regardless I digress…. What I’m getting at is when it comes to sockets impact or chrome as well as bits and bit sockets which are just bits pressed into sockets themselves Taiwan is leading the pack… and I’m quite happy with my Sunex 22mm impact socket in 3/8” drive I cut a slot in the case of my capri tools 3/8” drive impact socket master set that holds the sunex in place perfectly so it’s one cohesive set anything deviating from that I’ve got provisions for already and that doesn’t happen all that often so at the end of the day it does the thing it does it well, what more could I ask for now if anything ever happens that I need to make a warranty claim for it I’ve had very degrees of success as a Canadian as far as warranty tools like this some are no questions asked other ones you have to argue with some won’t do it and some you just have to argue long enough and they will so that remains to be seen God willing it won’t come to that but if it does, I’ll surely add an update with a little blurb about if it went well or if it was like pulling teeth and whether I still stand behind the brand, we’re going by one single impact socket as the test bit so it’s not a very large sample and being a 22 mm in 3 8th Dr. I don’t foresee having to have any warranty claims made, but I’ve been proven wrong in the past either way it does the thing I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again as of right now

Great socket they are manufactured by the same company as GP sockets, however for military personnel you can purchase the same items from Home Depot at a discounted price.

I use this socket everyday in everything. One of the most useful size. This and the 21mm with 3/8 impact for all lug nuts, never over torque anything.

I needed to get a 22mm impact socket after a tire shop used too many ugga-duggas (the official torque measurement of impact guns) to put my lug nuts on my truck. They were so tight that the lug nuts had swollen out and 21mm no longer fit. I wanted the 3/8" drive so that it would work with my 3/8" battery impact that I keep in my truck. I was impressed when I put it on my 1/2" impact with an adapter and it showed no signs of wear after taking all 24 lug nuts loose. I've used it many times since with my 3/8" impact and it is still holding up well. This is one of only two or three individual Sunex sockets that I own but I won't hesitate to buy any other sizes that I may need in the future.

Bought this for use with my 3/8 electric impact. Socket does the job fine. No complaints here. Use this socket to take off lug nuts.
