These definitely have a break in period but I didn't like how the straps were very long. I'm worried that it will scrap my training partners and wasn't secured to my legs especially when moving. If you're calves aren't big, don't get these.

These guards are simple to use and provide great protection for your shins. I was worried they would slip around during use but that hasn't been an issue. Even did a couple of test kicks on a wood post and felt nothing.
