Fresh out of the box, they were great. It's a smooth texture throughout; however, the connection between the foot and shin ripped after a week. I still use them to this day, but you're better off getting a combat corner shin guard. It feels somewhat cheap but looks somewhat high-end. You won't find many white shin guards; that's the only reason I bought them.

I am a woman with longer legs and a shorter torso, but only about 5 foot 4 1/2 inches. I was uncertain what size to order, and it didn't help that there wasn't a chart to go by, so I searched online and ended up finding one on another website. Small is supposed to be from around 5 foot 2 to 5 foot 7 I think it said, so that seems correct for me. However, when I chamber for a front kick, it does feel like it goes a bit too high. My toes also almost point out and can at times. So, the height could be a bit shorter for me and the foot guard a bit longer, but overall, I don't think another size would have worked. My husband tried it on, and the straps barely connected behind his legs. The front part is a bit narrow and doesn't fit flush to my legs but works okay. However, it doesn't seem to offer a perfect universal fit... there will likely be something about it that just doesn't fit quite right.I wore it for about 4 rounds of Taekwondo sparring and it was much more comfortable than the plastic bottom ones I was using. Seemed lightweight enough once in use and I didn't notice the discomfort while chambering. It is very padded and thick, but not as spongy as the other. I think this will work well and I hope it holds up for a long time.

I train in Muay Thai and I love these shins. They are very comfy with extra padding. Not to bulky like most shin guards.
