I was super stoked to get this because of how useful my other bag from UpSurf has been (at least in the short time I've owned it). Just like the smaller 6'8" bag I have, it's sufficiently padded to provide protection from dings and other types of things. The 8'0" bag measured to 99 inches, so it can easily fit an 8 foot board. The material at the end feels like it's 600D Cordura (as stated) and a new smooth tarp, with a few mm of padding in the middle on each side. Again, just like the other bag I have from them, it seems durable for what I'd consider 'light duty ' tasks like carrying your board in your car to and from the home to beach. I wouldn't trust this for flying, but it's not advertised for that. It's nice to have something that keeps things like surf wax off your car interior/exterior, or little dings if you turn to early on a corner or something. This claims to have a 'full length zipper,' but that is not the case for what I received in my opinion. The zipper covered about one-third of the bag. You could still get a board in and out easily, but it's not a 'full length zipper.' Overall, this seems like a decent value for the money given the price of other bags from name brands in this large of a length 8'0" (bigger bag = more materials and time = higher cost). I would recommend it without hesitation.
