Had to return first one because I needed large one for my 13’ canoe. A little trickier for canoes as they are upside down on vehicle but pretty easy. No complaints and the company is great to ask questions etc.

Bought this to secure our new canoe on top of my truck. Fits our 16’8” clipper Cascade perfectly. A few wraps around the forward and back roof bars and added a padlock and done. Super simple and convenient. I added a couple Velcro cable ties to the cable to wrap up the cable when not being used. Very happy with the purchase.

I ordered two, one for a 10ft kayak the other for a 12.5 ft kayak. Received two canoe sized units?! Needed for a trip the next day so they would have to do. And they worked wonderfully. I had to get creative with the additional cable but that was not too difficult. I put the small end on the rear of each boat and ran the long cable from the front, around roof racks through the lock loop in the back and back around the roof racks enough to take up all the slack, then locked it to itself. Kept boats secure for several hotel stays and a total of ~2500 miles from east coast to Texas and back. The trick was figuring out how and where to loop things so there was NO slack. After the first time it was easy to get right. Longer is easier to deal with that too short so I'm happy.

I tried to return this product and have been unsuccessful. Haven't heard from supplier or Amazon. The product does t properly fit over the ends of my canoe as it is too small. I am disappointed the return process has failed and I will no longer trust Amazon.Update: Seems interesting that a day after submitting the above review, I received a return code from Amazon. I'll update after the process concludes.

I felt secure with my kayak locked to my rack overnight. It would take a determined and prepared thief to defeat this lock. The only thing is that you will also need to purchase a padlock to go with it.

Only one loop fits around a kayak end (Pelican brand sit on top Kayak). They need to make loops larger.

I use these to lock up my kayaks after I strap them in. It is just for extra security because I keep them on my car all summer long, but they are nice and secure with a good lock!

This item works pretty well. I am using it to secure two kayak s in the bed of my truck. Some adjustment s needed to make the cables snug but it is the best system I have found so far.
