Fantastic product and easy to assemble.(1) Product delivered in great packaging with good instructions on how to assemble. Product was easy to assemble. One nice thing was the seat already had the hardware installed to support the back rest so did not have to deal with that. The lower part folds up quite easy if need to store or transport.(2) Nice foot print and very sturdy even when seating on seat and swivel.(3) I bought to some back issues ... and this seat is very comfortable and allows both seat height adjustments and both height and angle of back rest adjustments which are quite easy. Also, notice that back rest is straight across on one side and slight concave on the other. This allows to have either straight or concave side towards back by easily flipping part of the backrest unit.(4) I feel much less stress on my back when playing guitar or banjo and can play for longer periods of time.(5) size and thickness of seat makes it very comfortable.(6) I am very pleased I decided on this product after lots of investigation ... it is really very well made and meets all my requirements.

I was hesitant to spend this amount of money on a throne, but I have zero regrets! The seat size is large, but not too large that it hinders my playing. It is very comfortable, and although the backrest is small, it is very supportive. This thing is built like a tank, and considering the amount of movement it is subjected to, it is a good thing. If you're serious about your drumming, then invest in a good throne, like the Tama First!

This is the perfect stool. Every other sitting furniture from now on is rubbish to me. It is very solid and very adjustable. I use it for playing drums and it's also perfect for guitar, with a foot rest, and just watching lessons on a screen in between. It does cost a lot, but I should have gotten it as the first part of my kit as I piece it together. Dealing with a flimsy chair is like sleeping on a bad mattress, and there is just no call for that.

If you've researched ergonomic drum thrones in the past couple of years, especially for thrones with backrests, you've probably come to a conclusion similar to mine: this drum throne stands among a only few offerings, and there are probably none that quite match the features this throne has to offer. The big catch? The big price tag. I was aware of this throne for some time, but the price held me at bay. I wasn't quite ready to spend $350+ on a drum throne. But a sudden worsening of a lower back issue changed my attitude, and I decided to buy the throne to invest in my health and to help enable pain free playing. The design of the throne is great, and I'm generally happy with the purchase. The throne is as supportive as I hoped. The reason I'm giving this product a 2 star rating: a) after just over a year of use, some quality issues developed (stitching on the front of the seat started separating, leather started tearing at the busted seam, and a rivet fell out of the back rest), and b) the warranty on such a high end product is abysmal (1 year), which means I need to replace the seat at retail price, or fix it myself. At 165 lbs, I stay pretty trim, and the lightly used throne has never left my house. I'm willing to forgive the rivet on the backrest, but there is absolutely no reason that the stitching should be separating on the seat itself, unless a defect is present. Out of warranty, maybe, but apparently Tama is ok with sacrificing the user experience of one customer to enable sweeping its own failures under the rug, so to speak.

As with all Tama stuff it's expensive but you absolutely get what you pay for in terms of quality of finish and just sheer robustness. Excellent drum stool that gives great stability for double bass drum work.

High quality chair all the way around, high quality materials, built like a tank, extremely comfortable especially the adjustable back rest. Just set the height where ya want it, lock it down & your ready to play. Highly recommend.

This throne is exquisitely designed and built to exceed professional standards. The feel and fit are uncompromising. Hats off to TAMA engineering! This throne is worth every penny of the price and after using it for a few weeks, to me, worth it's weight in gold! I use my TAMA throne to practice and play electric guitar, with a separate footstool. The engineering and build quality are world class. The 4 rubber feet provide excellent stability. The adjustments and finger nuts locks remind me of using my Matthews Studio Equipment (MSE) light stands and arms (used in Hollywood, and WW in the movie industry). The use case is, "Set it and forget it." Meaning the setting will not drift or loosen. This TAMA drum throne is engineered to similar standards. The back adjustment is beautiful. You can dial it in exactly as you desire. I give this TAMA drum throne my highest recommendation.

Best, high quality drum throne on the market. I use it for a studio chair at my DAW and for guitar practice. Love the lumbar support. I can sit and practice guitar for hours.
