I putchased this instead of OEM much cheaper. The sheath works great. I put some cable lube through it. The cable itself is the correct lenght, but the barrell end is to BIG for the stern drive, just by a hair. Ould probably file it to fit, but bought oem locally.Seller was quick to ship no complaonts there. I have purchased other items from the ROP shop. I would ask for a return but sheath of itm is being used.

Boy do i feel like a dummy for not reading the other reviews. I had bought a different mercruiser part from ROP SHOP before and it was great so I guess that is why i didn't think to read the reviews for this one. It doesn't fit, the end piece is too big for the shift linkage to grab it properly. What a headache.

As stated on other reviews, it is not made for a Bravo 3. It is extremely weak cable, it broke putting it together where you mount it on the motor side. It will not fit in the capture tray in the lower unit without grinding down the length, its too long. DO NOT BUY FOR BRAVO 3.

These absolutely will not fit a bravo, the end on the cable does not fit in the cup in the lower unit. It took a long time to figure this out, had to pull the outdrive apart to see its too long to slide in the cup which is hidden when the drive is on.

This lower shift cable is extremely poor quality. The stainless cable guide does not thread into the brass end on the cable guide. The plastic is so flimsy it bends when shifting . Very poor quality and I will be eating a lost labor sandwich due to the poor quality.

I don't write a ton if reviews, but I'm hoping I can save you OVER A DAYS WORTH OF HEADACHES. The photo showing the three cables has this piece of junk on the left, another aftermarket shift cable in the middle and an OEM cable on the right. Notice that this cable end is larger..it won't fit in the shifter on the drive. The other photos have the shifter from the drive (removed) showing that the other 2 cables ends fit...and this one doesn't!I'm not a boat mechanic, but I have removed and installed over a dozen Bravo/Blackhawk drives and never had this problem. The drive has to be almost mated up when the shift cable engages, so you can't see what is going wrong. I had to take the case of the drive apart and remove the shift linkage to find the problem. Wasting my time!Look at the other reviews. This won't work. Don't waste your time!

Ordered this ROP branded shift cable for a 1996 Bravo 2 drive. Nothing about it is good. the nub on the end is to large to fit into the Bravo's shift clip so it had to be ground down and shortened. After shortening it sufficiently with a file I discovered that it was now loose on the end of the cable. To keep the end from pulling off when shifting I had to braze the nub onto the cable end and then again redress it to fit in the clip. Next problem is that the ferule end that fastens into the Bravo helmet is longer than the original so when the shift clip moves forward it hits the end of the ferule and will not allow full travel. You guessed it you get to remove the drives, pull out the cable and shorten it to make it functional. If you want to save a little money and have time and tolerance for frustration, this is an excellent product. If on the other hand you want a well designed and constructed product you should look elsewhere.

Worst cable ever the little cat jumped on the end of the cable was too long so it doesn't fit in your shifter arm assembly so I ended up having to spend it an additional 2 hours on this job grinding and trying to make make it fit never again will I buy something that is an oem or will I ever buy anything for these folks cuz it is a scam
