As the years accumulate, being comfortable in a tent becomes more elusive. I am on a never-ending quest for a sleeping situation that somewhat compares to my regular bed without having to strap an actual mattress to the roof of my adventure hooptie. Sleeping on the ground is a young person’s forte, not mine.I’ve tried a self-inflating pad before and found it only slightly more comfortable than casting straw under my sleeping bag. This unit, however, promises a thicker, more insulated experience without having to tote a finicky air pump so it seemed worthy of a try.It arrived vacuum-sealed in a plastic bag that only faintly smelled like China when opened. Due to this extremely efficient packaging, the pad required some time and a bit of lung-inflating to assume a more pad-like shape. I left the valves open overnight and in the morning, I had a most pleasing surprise. Even on the flat, hard floor, it did a good job at separating my carcass from terra firma. Even my hips were comfortable when rolling onto my side. And I especially like the token attempt at a slightly puffier end as a pillow-ish incline for my noggin.Deflating and rolling was a bit of a struggle but to be expected with a design that’s constantly trying to reinflate itself against your best efforts. The included storage bag is inordinately spacious, requiring no furtive struggle to insert the rolled-up pad. Huzzah. After packing away and THEN reading the instructions did I notice its recommended to store the pad in its flat, expanded state, helpfully suggesting ‘under a bed or behind a sofa.’ This will help it keep its shape, it promises. Now, who is going to a tube able to store something this large like that?!? Guess time will tell if keeping it rolled up is a bad move or not.And oh yeah - it comes with an emergency blanket for some reason. So there’s that.

At 6 lb 11oz, this is NOT a backpacking pad! It is basically a dense foam pad with a sturdy protective shell. It is NOT what I would consider ‘ultralight.’ The green color is a very attractive dark forest green. It IS very comfortable—even for side sleeping—but more suited to car camping or ad hoc guest accomodations at home than backpacking. The protective shell isn’t overly crinkly or noisy when moving around on it and a slight texture reduces slippage (for example if your tent is set up on a slope). The first time using it, I let it sit with the valves open for a couple of hours, and this helped the foam to ‘reset’ and achieve its natural fullness. No complaints for what it is, just disappointed that it won’t be suitable for backcountry use.

This is the best pound for pound or "bang for your buck" sleeping pad I've used. It would definitely fit right in at an REI. While it's not quite as thick, nice or luxurious as say the Exped mat I have, it's more than comfortable and you should get a good nights sleep with this and a sleeping bag. The inflation happens quickly in the stated amount of time (20s). It's pretty easy to deflate too, however I would definitely recommend a hand pump or electric pump for easiest deflation. The material is high quality and very good and should last a good amount of trips. They have a few colors to choose form which is nice.It comes with a bag to carry it in, but this is definitely NOT a backpacking mat. It does not roll down anywhere near small enough for that. It is about twice the size of a yoga mat bag when rolled up. So much to big for a backpack but very easy to carry and pack for camping or to store in a closet and use around the house or an RV.This should fit someone around 6'4" and under. Might be a tad short for those taller than that. Also worth noting one side is slightly raised to act as a pillow. But I still recommend bringing another pillow of your own as it won't be tall enough for most people.Considering this mat is anywhere from $30 to less than half the price of more expensive mats, I'd highly recommend this. You get all the functionality and features you need for a good nights rest and easy setup and breakdown at a much cheaper price than the high end options.

Delivery was fast, I believe it came a day early. The pad is comfortable, and kept me quite warm in combination with a blanket. If your tents placed right, this pad will offer a comfortable place to relax.

Arrived quickly! Pretty comfortable for a camping mat I can fold up and doesn’t take too much space. Thinking of ordering another!

This is a self inflating camping mattress. It arrives in a vacuum sealed bag compressed into a small package. It includes 2 elastic straps, an emergency blanket (aluminized mylar), a storage bag and set of instructions. It took a few days unraveled to get it to fluff up. The instructions suggest if the mattress isn't firm enough after being set up to blow into the two ports to add more air. It's quite long and could easily accommodate a very tall person. The materials are very sturdy and the mattress is well constructed. One end is has a much thicker amount of foam forming a pillow which is a stand-out awesome feature... the one drawback is weight. Compared to closed cell or inflatable mattresses this offering is a beast. It would not be my first choice for an extended backpacking trip. However, for car camping with the family where weight isn't an issue it would be awesome. Paired with a small cot would be very warm and comfortable. Overall a great value for money unless weight is a concern. We will keep this item so our kids have something they can borrow when raiding our garage for camping gear.

This is a lifesaver! I purchased it just in time for my camping trip and came in so clutch. It is so simple and easy to use. Inflates and deflates quickly and is super comfortable. Definitely saved my back from hurting all weekend. Very impressed.
