This part is discontinued though Toyota. The dealer told me that "IF" they can get one from a wearhouse, it would be $1200. This was an amazing find. It was brand new in the box.

Shipped perfectly, and returned perfectly. Tacoma came to it’s senses and fixed itself. It knows I watched Top Gear “Can I Kill A Toyota”! Knew I was planning a trip!

Old truck locking up the rear wheels when hard braking? This will fix it. Stupid original only lasted 26 years and not covered under warranty, lol.

'03 Tacoma wouldn't bleed at rear brakes with vacuum pump OR with brake pedal. There was obviously no rear braking action, either. Replacement isn't hard. You do have to remove the valve and its stamped steel bracket together in order to separate them. There's a plastic C-clip on the backside of the bracket that lightly holds the assembly together and you'll see why bracket and valve comes out together.First, crack the line fittings just loose so that you can use an open-end 10mm for quick unscrewing later. Next, remove 12mm nut and bolt at the load arm end, 12mm nuts on the valve, then 12mm bracket to frame bolts. Undo fluid lines and cap the ends with bleeder screw rubber covers. When transferring new valve to bracket, note old mounting marks and adjust the valve along the slotted holes for the twin studs/nuts. Position affects rear braking force. When all is tight, bleed valve at its rear and then at wheels. Toughest part was seating the old rubber boot fully while holding the clamp ring spread open w/locking pliers.Test drive showed better, sharper brake response. Would be good to carefully try panic stops on a wet road to see if rears lock prematurely. ABS will cut in to stop lockup but vertical adjustment is there for a reason. ABS may not save you on a twitchy wet turn. With all this in mind, El Cheapo $35 load sensing proportioning valves are not good deals. Another $170 in your wallet will not stop your truck when you need all your brakes.

Exact replacement on 2003 PreRunner TRD OR. Doesn't come with the rubber boot.
