This thing shredded right away , needs to be a metal option for the latrax. This item was my final purchase for my latrax and it has since been torn down and salvaged parts that I could for other rc cars.

the ring gear works great with stock motor. I upgraded to the Dynamite brushless esc combo motor with the stock pinion in the teton. It stripped out the ring gear within 48 hours. I took the stock steel teton gear and grinded out the center and pressed the plastic gear off and replaced with the teton steel one. It's slightly larger than the plastic one included with the spool. I used some glue to bond it to the spool and it seems to work "ok" but would likely recommend using a two stage metal bond like JB weld, on the stock metal gearset and get the same effect.I wish they would make this spool with a metal gear option. Plastic is just not that durable without a slipper clutch.Overall this spool is a decent product but not as durable as I had hoped for.I have the same spool and motor in the latrax rally, and with a 60 tooth main gear, and 14 tooth pinion, it works phenomenal with this spool. but if you increase the torque be prepared for the plastic spool to strip.
