If you don’t want to spend the high dollar for a Trap shooter this will be just fine. The 3 legs have to be driven into the ground to make it sturdy, once that is done it works just fine. It launches 1 or 2 clay targets easily. I find it to be adequate for the occasional trap shooting that I do.

I have had this thrower for several months now. It works great. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn't do well unless you mount it on something. Mine is mounted to 2x2" square steel tubing. I put in in my receiver hitch when we shoot and it works awesome from there. I also put an extra long para cord to pull from the back of my truck. Before it was mounted I had issues with keeping it from moving.

Worked great. Was not the easiest to assemble and the directions are trash. Much better price than comparable items in sporting goods stores and worked flawlessly once dialed in correctly. Takes a few throws to get the angle correct and requires consistent operation (for instance keep your foot on the rear each time you pull the cord). I recommend replacing the string that is included with your own paracord. I used it to go thru two cases of sporting clays and about 300 rounds of 12 gauge shells and had no problems. I did not mount it to a platform or spare tire (bolt for mounting to a tire is included also), I just sat it on the grass at the edge of the range where I was shooting and dug the spike into the dirt.

I read the reviews and for the price I figured I would give it a try. I don't understand why people have problems with theirs. Mine throws doubles beautifully stacked or side by side, with only minimal tension on the spring, and is not overly difficult to set. This thing functions great. I've used it three times and it has worked great each time. I burn through a box of clays in 90 minutes with my friends with this. I couldn't mount it to my spare tire and don't really get those instructions. It does pop out of the ground a bit but a sandbag as others have mentioned would solve that. I think I will take the base off completely at some point and mount it to a trailer hitch so I can put the clays on the tailgate and not have to bend over to the ground to load it. Very happy with this purchase, cannot beat the price, look forward to using it again this weekend.

For the price, this is a decent clay thrower and operates just like a low-end thrower. The spring is adjustable, but the tighter you adjust the spring, the harder it is to manually fold the thrower arm back. If you want to get any sort of decent distance on level ground, you'll have to tighten the spring down A LOT and angle it upwards. Just bear in mind that it'll be a lot harder to fold the thrower arm back. Even then, it'll only throw a single clay approximately 50 yards. If you're starting out shooting or just want something to mess around with occasionally, this will probably do.The picture indicates that it can fire two clays at once. This is true: it CAN fire two clays at once. However, the reality is that: 1) you have to tighten the spring a LOT more so that it can throw the clays to a good distance, and 2) you MUST keep the thrower arm level. If you attempt to get any sort of angle, the second clay will slide off and bust. Therefore, if you want to use two clays, you have to have the thrower elevated. My friends and I fired from the top of a rise so that we could get some decent air time, but if all you have is level ground, two clays at once just isn't going to happen.Another thing about two clays at one time - the clays go in separate directions. That is, it's appropriate for two separate shooters standing about 40-50 feet apart so that each shooter can shoot one clay, but don't expect a single shooter to be able to get both clays unless that shooter can shoot 45 degrees to the left and then immediately turn and shoot 45 degrees to the right. The pullstring runs through a small, chintzy loop screw at the rear of the thrower. The loop screw is secured to with a tiny little nut. This nut needs to be tightened approximately every 20 throws. I put some Loctite on it after my last shooting round, but I haven't tested it to see if that will work.In closing, if you need something to train with, or if you don't have a lot of upper body strength to pull the thrower arm back, this isn't the one for you. If you just need something for occasional use, just some recreational shooting with friends, this will probably be good enough - not great, just good enough.

Well made unit that ships partially assembled. Front legs are adjustable to mount on a tire or use it as I have on the ground and just step the legs into the earth to hold it steady. To launch a clay target takes some effort and certainly not for kids to do. Safety notices in the directions need to be followed carefully. Elevation adjustment is very easy but some clay targets may slip off if you set it too high. I have operated the unit alone without a problem but having someone else load and "pull" would certainly speed up the fun. Only reason for a four and not a five is some sharp edges and sheet metal screws. I recommend a pair of gloves for the operator. Nice unit, nice price, very pleased overall.

I bought this clay thrower a few weeks ago and I am very happy with it. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little worried that it would be just more Chinese junk. Well it is not. For the money, I thought it was pretty well made. I made a wooden bracket for it to mount to an existing metal stand at the range. It brings the height up to about belt level. I was then able to tie the pull cord to a dog tether. I just then have to shift my weight to the right a little to launch the clay. I think a lot better than stepping on a pedal like one of the other models because I never loose my balance. The only thing I found hokey about this thrower is that there is a small spring retainer that acts as a stop for the clays. It is held in place by a small piece of medal tape. Not a big deal. It is just the only thing I found odd about it. I had this thrower set to launch a clay out to about 40 or so yards. Then it seems to just kind of hangs in the air for a brief second. Bang! It shatters. Almost becomes too easy after a while.
