They arrived fairly promptly. When it was time to cut them down to size, I realized that they weren't made of brass at all. The ones I got were stainless steel. Not complaining. They were harder to cut, but I'm sure will last foreverish.

I cut the top to length first, which seems easier to guage how much material needs to be removed. I found that it was necessary to leave the overflow drain head loose in the sink while threading the head onto the tube because the head doesn't want to quite make a 90 degree angle, and it might be better if it doesn't anyway to give the bottom segment a little slope to drain water.
