I was hoping I could use this on my BorgWarner S300 compressor housing. BW provides a hosebarb compressor outlet; suitable for a 2.5" silicone hose coupler. However, you can cut the hose barb portion off, exposing a 2.9" OD v-band flange, suitable for making a nice v-band connection between intercooler pipe and compressor outlet.This unit's flange will mate to the BW compressor outlet, but is NOT suitable for welding to aluminum intercooler piping.This unit is really only suitable to create a "hose barb" connection for those turbos (Holset HX/HY I think) whose compressor outlet does not natively accommodate a silicone hose connection.Even then, I think it's awkward this unit is only 2.42" in diameter where the hose coupler would fit. A 2.5" coupler should fit on a 2.49 or 2.50" diameter. But it'd probably work ok with a good t-bolt clamp.If they'd have made it 2.5" - it'd still work just fine for a 2.5" silicone coupler; but people could cut off the "bead" for hose retention and butt-weld it onto the end of 2.5" tubing - which would have solved my problem.But they didn't.The included clamp is mediocre but workable. Definitely not as nice as the OEM Holset clamps.
