I will say I put it in a tough situation. I have a U6-Mesh (the HOT little cylinder) on a flag pole about 20' on a flag pole, and a UAP-AC-M + UMA-D antenna, and my receptions, according to the UniFi controller app, -72dBm to, at best -65dBm, resulting in a +7dBm gain. That is traveling over the top of a tin-roofed shed, a thick and mature Oregon Ash AND a mature (35'+) Cherry tree. Overall, its "only" about 130 yards distance and with both AP's over15' above the ground they are mounted, and I would guess a 5-10 foot gain in elevation over that 130 yards. After installing the antenna, make sure you go into that AP's settings and set the 'Antenna Type' to 'UMA-D'

We used this to push wifi to our chicken coop about 100 feet away from our house. The omnidirectional antenna didn't quite reach our cameras out there with -75db signals. This antenna gives us a -56db and a -64db with a metal wall interrupting the signal. Never lose signal to our continuously recording security cameras now.

When I ordered the unit, I couldn't find if it had the needed connecting cables to attach to my UAP Unifi unit. I should have known better, the antenna came with all sorts of ways to attach it to a pole or wall, and two nice quality cables to connect. As usual with Ubiquity, I am very satisfied.

I put this on a UAP-AC-M as a last-minute hope to cover vendors at a large outdoor event. It pointed from a second-story walkway down to a small field. The one sample I did was meshing to another UAP-AC-M (standard setup). It was a great success for a wireless credit card machine. I didn't hear complaints from any vendors either.

I really needed a point-to-point solution, but there's only solar power at the far end and hardly worth the effort to do all of that. So, I gave this a shot. The antenna cost as much as the outdoor access point, but this allowed just enough extra gain to make my setup viable. Works as advertised!

Although ubiquity's software quality is on the decline, especially for the standard APs (i.e. AC Pro), the antenna is really useful (when used in conjunction with AC-AP-M) and indeed it helps extend/improve the signal quite significantly. I use it for a wireless mess in an internal space whereby signal strength & penetration was low and indeed delivered the goods on both speed and signal quality.Mind you though that I would not call this value for money, hence the 5 stars.

I had a spare AP-AC-Mesh that I wanted to mount up a tree to serve as a wireless connection point for a camera cluster. The AC-Mesh/UMA-D connects to an unmanaged POE switch mounted in a weatherproof box. This arrangement allowed me to run two wired POE cameras and also a WiFi camera from the AC-Mesh. It's about 175 ft. line-of-sight from the wired AP-Flex-HD that serves as the wireless uplink. With this antenna my wireless link is 84% (-56 dBm) at 5 GHz. The link has stayed up at 5 GHz during heavy rain and a severe electrical storm. I'm hoping that the link will continue to operate in heavy snow during the winter, but time will tell. It's not quite as good as a wired connection since I have to run my cameras at reduced frame rates, but it's usable.I'm not sure that an AC-Mesh plus a UMA-D antenna is the best or most cost effective short range point-to-point wireless bridge solution that Ubiquiti offers, but it worked well for me since I already had the spare AC-Mesh.

There are a number of wifi antennas available on the market. This antenna is specified with 45 degree polarized beamwidth for 5Ghz and 90 degrees for 2.4.It'd small, about 4"X 8" with a well engineered spherical wall or pole mount.Silicone boots are installed on the two 12" pigtails with rp-sma connectors for the antenna andaccess point connection. Built-in bubble level if pairing with another polarized antenna.Turns out one antenna connected to the Ubiquity UAP-AC-M pointed to a dock 350' away gave 80%signal on 5Ghz and about 74% on 2.4. Mounted inside screen porch with minor shrub and railing in line of sight.

Using the stock antennas with two model UAP-AC-Mesh, working in an uplink/downlink configuration, the wireless link was running about 30-40% signal strength with lost packets and a high retry rate. I added one of these antennas to the remote AP, and now signal is consistently 99% (-45 dBm) and the retry rate dropped to zero (although still some lost packets). The channel throughput is 400 Mbps up and down.

I have an outdoor camping area that is about 400' from my home. I connected this to the Ubiquiti AP and I'm able to get full signal in the camping area through trees and brush. My upload and download speeds are only slightly less than in my house. This allows us to stream movies on projector while backyard camping or just hanging out around the fire.
