At first I was worried because it looked so different from the original. Then I realized it was an UPGRADED circuit board. Easy to install. Furnace fired right up.

Works great. The plus side, the original did not have the diagnostic LED, which makes this one better.

It has worked flawlessly since installation. Just as good as the one Carrier uses and at a significantly lower price.

The ICM281 was a good replacement for my Carrier's original CESO110057-02. It performed well after installation-dare I say "better" as it keeps the house temperature within a degree of the setting (the original board would allow a ± 3-degree swing before kicking in/shutting off.You should know that the ICM281 is available from other sources for as much as $50 less. However, shipping was free and relatively fast (USPS Priority), and by installing it yourself, you're still saving quite a bit over hiring a "pro" who would mark it up even further.Only complaint: the directions for the "self-test" printed on the inside of the box did not quite match those printed on the self-adhesive label included with the product. My findings:Use the label directions. Connect all wires, including "W", "Y", "C" and "G" thermostat wires; DO NOT connect the "R" (red) wire. Then, briefly (1 second) short the "C" (cyan + 24V-Common) terminal to the "TEST/TWIN" to start the self-test. After the test, reconnect the "R" wire.Another easy (but important) step when servicing your furnace: Clean the Flame-Sensor Rod using fine sandpaper (search youtube videos for demo). Be sure to wipe off any sandpaper residue with a clean cloth before re-attaching it (one screw). The new board will react much more accurately if you clean off the steel wire. This 5-minute step is very important if your furnace is > 8 yrs. old and/or does not have a separate vent pipe to draw in outside air for the burners.Five-stars for the product, 3 for price and testing directions: thus 4-stars overall.
