After we moved into our new home, we noticed quickly that the previous owners did not know how to care for cast iron.It was necessary for us to purchase a new griddle in order to grill inside on our stove on rainy nights. The local hardware store wanted to charge us twice as much for this same product, and with a 2-week delivery timeframe. Purchasing this replacement part from Amazon was both cost-effective and timely.Extremely pleased with the overall fit and quality of the product.

This fits my stove perfectly. If you have experience with cast iron cooking and care this will work great! I seasoned the griddle on the stove top 3-4x before first batch of pancakes. Until the seasoning builds up to a dark black color it will require oiling between each cooked item. This heats up and holds heat so much better than the aluminum griddle that came with the stove.

Some background: I installed a GE free standing range (model JGB660SEJ4SS) during my kitchen remodel about 5-6 years ago. It is a 5 burner range - 2 left, 2 right, and a large, elongated center burner. In all the time I have owned this range I have NEVER used the center burner. It’s really not suited for much, since the burner is an elongated oval, whereas most pots and pans are round. Hence unless it’s a very large pot, the flames exceed the pot.Ergo, I decided that a griddle might allow me to get some use of this center burner. Seems ideal for pancakes or grilled sandwiches, etc. This unit fit my stove perfectly in lieu of the center grate the range came with.Be aware it is cast iron, and quite heavy. It is also quite large and just barely fits in my sink for cleaning. I would have preferred it having a non-stick surface. But I imagine that would mean replacing it every few years, as non-stick surfaces do not tend to last. I guess the answer is to season it, but this came without any instructions (or any paperwork at all for that matter) suggesting that.It also heats somewhat unevenly, as the griddle is larger than the burner under it. I tried making 3 pancakes with it, and the center pancake cooked much faster than the other two. Perhaps I needed to let it preheat longer. Not fully sure.I still gave it 4 stars. Mostly because it fits my stove exactly, and it might allow me to finally get some use of the center burner. Fingers crossed.

Heavy duty griddle fitment is slightly tight but acceptable and recommend.
