U.S. Solid 1/4" 24V DC Normally Closed Pneumatic Solenoid Valve
The U.S. Solid pneumatic solenoid valve features a Aluminum Alloy body for general outdoor and indoor use. It is only favored by filtered air.
Direction of the Flow
Most U.S. Solid Valves are UNIDIRECTIONAL
Make a note of the arrow on your valve. Most U.S. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. If connected in opposite directions, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly.
IP65 rated protection

This valve operates as described - 24VDC, double acting, etc. It does not come with fittings or exhaust mufflers so you'll need to provide those yourself.There are no instructions so if you're not familiar with these valves check out youtube or another source to understand how to use them.The two diagonal holes for mounting to a manifold are there (some cheap valves don't have these holes), and the solenoid and wiring block can be moved to different positions to suit different installations.

I used one of these in an industrial application in my very dusty wood shop. It performed flawlessly for over 1,000,000 cycles over a period of about a year and a half before finally failing. While I totally agree that the documentation that comes with these is absolutely useless and horrible and it was very difficult to wire up (the marks that indicate what is what are hidden inside and visible only after you take the head completely apart and are in some kind of technical gibberish even Google doesn't know how to decode), I have to give chops to the fact that once we got it working, it lasted so long and performed so well. Rest in pieces little solenoid, well done.

but the spindle valve is definitely tooled differently than the 5/2 valves I have and I'm not sure if these are sticky or just incompatible. I did notice the pilot air passage was a lot more resistant to air flow which slowed the mechanism down. I can hear a whistle and less airflow. Not sure if thats poor tooling inside the valve body or what but the price is right and the solenoids work good so far. fingers crossed.

Only problem I had with it is there is no wiring diagram with it and I thought that unless you trigger a switch it wouldn't acutate at all but one is always open and the other always closed then when you power it it reverses

This is pilot operated 5 way, 2 position solenoid. It works just fine, took a little testing to figure out how to wire it up. I'd recommend at least a single note of documentation pertaining to how to properly connect everything, but even without this and with zero previous experience working with products like this, I managed it figure it out and have it up and running pretty quickly. I've only had this product for a few days and haven't done extensive testing, so I can't comment on quality over any period of time. But I would recommend this product, so far.Thanks.

This is the second US Solid product I have had a bad experience with. The first pneumatic solenoid valve came with no instructions and was mismarked so I had to figure out how to use it by trial and error.This valve is described in the US Solid literature as being direct-acting, that is, not pilot operated. That's what I need and why I bought the item. Well, it is pilot operated. I can't believe how careless and irresponsible this company is. Do not buy their products! You cannot tell what you're going to get. The only thing I liked about it was it was cheap. But now I have to continue looking for a direct acting valve.
