U.S. Solid 1/8" 12V DC Normally Closed Solenoid Valve, NBR gasket
The U.S. Solid motorized solenoid valve features a stainless steel body for general outdoor and indoor use. It is favored by customers for DIY projects, medium temperature and chemical applications, as well as flow control for irrigation, reverse osmosis and motorcycle systems.
Direction of the Flow
Most U.S. Solid Valves are UNIDIRECTIONAL
Make a note of the arrow on your valve. Most U.S. Solid valves are unidirectional. This means they are intended to flow in one direction only, in the direction of the arrow. If connected in opposite directions, the valve will not actuate properly (will not close for Normally Closed valves). Additionally, be sure the medium passing through is filtered. If not, particles will cling to the gasket over time, which can cause it to not seal properly.
THREADING
U.S. Solid Valves follow National Standards for pipe thread. We suggest the use of Teflon tape to ensure the seal of the NPT threading. The tapered male and female thread form angled surfaces that with increased torque squeeze the Teflon tape resulting in a tight seal.
OVERHEATING
These valves should be energized for less than 8 hours. While most do not have more than 18W of power, the coils are in a contained area and can burn out if energized for too long. We suggest a computer fan to keep the coil cool if necessary to energize continuously for extended periods.
POLARITY
- For valves with 2 wires, the valve will actuate regardless of which terminal each wire is connected to (+ or -). Some units include a ground wire. Open up the connector and look for the ground symbol (as shown in the corner).
- For valves with a ground wire, please be sure to ground the valve.
GASOLINE and PRESSURE WARNING
- NBR gaskets should not be used with gasoline, kerosene, or other petroleum products. If your valve requires contact with these substances, opt for one with a VITON gasket.
- All solenoid valves need some pressure to actuate. This is especially true of pilot or indirectly operated valves.

This Part is Marked as 1/8" and according to the manual the Valves sold in the U.S. is suppose to be 1/8" NPT.What I got is a 1/8" BSPP pipe thread valve which is the valves sold in Europe. If one tries to attach an 1/8 " NPT fitting it may crack the valve body. I was in a bind since i don't have BSPP fittings so I had to slowly retap the valve to 1/8" NPT and use plenty of teflon tape to make sure it seals.

Works as designed, handles 135PSI Air without too much problem.4 stars because the inlet port does hold 1/4" npt, but it is extremely snug. Like deform the case snug.

Upon inserting a 1/4 x 1/8" barbed hose fitting on this solenoid valve it immediately cracked and I will not be able to use this product. The barbed hose fitting that I used is apparently "frequently bought with" this solenoid valve yet it doesn't even fit without cracking the valve. I will now search for a better quality 1/8" solenoid valve and post an update in this review later.

Great little valve for controlling fluids, I use it in a low pressure system and it works like a champ. I did read a few reviews about this valve where people had an issue with the body cracking when they were tightening fittings, but I didn't have that problem --> just remember that you don't have to tighten the fittings too much to get a good seal from the plastic body!

worked great for a harley air ride system. I can see how other reviewers cracked the body when installing the air fittings, you really have to take your time when starting the fittings in the body. Running a NPT tap down it a little helps start the fittings.
