the diameter of these rods measures 3.93 to 3.94 mm. a 4mm bore bearing fits way too loosely.

These 4mm rods worked perfectly as new shafts for new platen knobs on an old typewriter. They are accurate in both diameter and length. Also used tham in a jig I made for setting highly accurate angle cuts on a table and band saw. After all that, I still have 4 left for future projects.
