About this item

  • Provides a high performing and efficient solution for replacing the dual mass flywheel (DMF), this innovative solution replaces the DMF with a solid flywheel and places the long travel damper into the clutch disc
  • Premium Friction Material for Increased Durability: Valeo's enhanced F510 friction material is composed of an organic compound and higher copper content providing better heat dissipation and preventing premature failure
  • Consistent Driver Comfort: The long travel damper technology consists of a specific friction plate with a higher damper capacity for improved filtration of noise, vibration and harshness maintaining the comfort of the original clutch
  • Maximum Torque Transfer: Due to the flywheel's solid composition, combined with the increased clamp load of the Clutch Cover (Pressure Plate), this kit is able to increase torque transfer efficiency
  • Simple Bolt-on Installation: No special tools or pre-loading required

The kit is complete with everything you need to replace the horror show of a factory dual mass setup. Much better engagement that the stock one and feels like a normal clutch again

As the title states, it appears to be a good kit but it is a bit heavy and takes a beating during shipping. They really should package it better to survive getting tossed around and wrecked. If you go with this kit you need to plan ahead, inspect it and not be in a hurry because you might have to wait for a replacement or two.

No protection between any of the surfaces, the clutch is chipped and bent. Apply plate is dinged up bad. But flywheel ok, I’m sure it works great. But they need to add more protection between everything. Metal and metal?! Really? What a joke. I paid $400 for this and that’s what I get?! Unreal.

Installed in my 1998 VW Passat 1.8t B5 AEB engine with manual transmission. Removed axels, subframe, and transmission. Everything went together great. Feels like a brand new car. Happy with product quality and reliability. I’ve put just over 100 miles so far and no issues. No chatter.

Update. Received the “new one” and the clutch was broken and was packaged even worse. Received a used product, box was destroyed, as there was zero protection in between the flywheel and the box, was just flopping around the box. Will return and try one more time from them.

Update May 2017:I wrote that the clutch was failing, slipping, and generally unusable. After taking out the "failing" clutch, it turns out there was easily 80-85% of the material left on the clutch disk. The issue was my slave cylinder's default position held the clutch in a partially disengaged position, so the pressure plate would never fully clamp down on the clutch. I basically rode the clutch for 7,000 miles, and it did well enough for that entire time. After putting a new clutch in and fixing the REAL problem, the clutch feels great! The engagement point is nowhere near as high on the pedal, and the car feels much less sluggish overall. For the price, I'm very satisfied.Pros:Fits my 02 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8TEasy to install - if you pull the engine. I've pulled out the transmission once and I'm never doing that again.Feels good, sounds good, works well.Has worked fairly well for the few months I've had itCons:Takes a weekend to installNot as smooth (in theory) as the original DMF

A little bit of surface runt on the pressure plate, but no harm and everything worked well. I do not consider this a complete kit. It would be if it included a replacement pilot bearing. Be sure to get a new pilot bearing. It's cheap insurance to replace it since you are already in there.

Highly recommending to stay with the dual mass flywheel that came from the factory. Although this is a great quality clutch the solid flywheel makes shifting a lot more jerky. I wish i spent a little more on a new dual mass flywheel.
