It is windows compatible. But you need to try several times to get a proper reading. It is not an issue of configuration or my fingerprints. I have a laptop that I unlock in the same desk with this technology and it works flawlessly. This one, most of the time I override it with the PIN.

This product was worth the money for the added security and I’ll likely purchase another for my other PC once I upgrade it to Windows 11.

It doesn't register the fingerprints easy... and when you want to open a password with the print... it don't work at all.Get a Kensington desktop fingerprint reader.... it works great.

It seems to have a problem reading your finger print. After you have programmed it to read your finger print and start to use it most of the time you will have to try to get it to read your finger print many times until it will tell you to use your pin. I deleted my finger print and re did it about ten times. Never could get it to work the way it should. Returned it to Amazon.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the speed and accuracy of Apple's built-in fingerprint readers, but this thing doesn't come remotely close. It does the job, but it takes several seconds to read your fingerprint, and fails often if the placement isn't exactly right. (Even if you go through the extra training steps.) Maybe it's a problem with Windows Hello and not entirely this thing's fault, but still, I expect a lot better for a standalone device at this price point.

Product seemed to be of good quality and worked pretty well for a few months. Now it almost never can recognize my fingerprint. I have tried adding both index fingers several times, but it does not seem to help. Service was of no help. Said I should remove and update the driver. My system (Windows 11) says it has the latest driver. I bought a Windows Hello camera instead. Works every time.
