Came broken

This mechanic stool was a major disappointment due to its poor quality. The drill holes were off-center, making screw insertion a frustrating task, compounded by the terrible, unclear instructions. To make matters worse, one of the plastic base pieces arrived broken, highlighting the cheap materials and poor packaging. Save your money and avoid this headache; I'll be seeking a return immediately.

Want to like this, but it has too many problems out of the box. The idea is 5 starts, the execution is not. The QC is non existent, it rocks when being used as a stool on a perfectly flat floor, had hex bolts attaching the wheels already stripped out, was difficult to put together because holes were drilled in incorrect spots or designed in incorrect spots?, it's tough to know where to start. In the end it does work but not thrilled with a rocking stool or a crooked seat out of the box.Basically from the get go it was obvious not a lot of care was taken in the design or final fabrication of the individual parts. Would be better if they just skipped the tools, you need an additional adjustable or crescent wrench for the bolts, and there is no way the screwdriver is going to allow you to tighten enough for this to be safe. I have my own tools but pointing this out, you'll at the very least need a decent phillips and an adjustable or crescent wrench. The holes in the seat on one side were almost a full inch different than the other side, so the seat is crooked but the crossbeams barely reached the holes becuase they're not where they're supposed to be. The raised seat connecting braces are not long enough, so I had to basically flatten part of them to be able to get the screw in on one side, this was not because of the incorrect holes in the seat, the bracket is just too short or it was designed by someone not realizing it would have bends in it and the length of the bends weren't accounted for on paper before drilling. The instructions are unclear or someone didn't even think about whether the rubber stoppers are supposed to go, under or over the seat supports, I put them over but not sure if sandwiching the rubber end pieces was intended, this was not pictured or mentioned in the instructions. On a perfectly flat concrete surface, it rocks about 1/2in which is not especially safe at the least but really annoying at best. The wheeled side is ok though, no rocking on that side at least. But not great having an unstable stool...Finally why on earth use a metal plate with faux treads as a standing surface, then gloss powder coat over the treads so they're just as slippery as gloss painted metal...? If it was flat I, we could at least stick something grippy on it, the way it's designed, it's the worst of all worlds, slippery and can't be corrected with stick on tread.
