Bought these for my middle school age child to use during band and after a couple weeks the end of the mallet fell off. I had to super glue it back on.

These were perfect for our house - louder than a soft mallet, but not as ear-piercing as metal mallets.

Excelente par de mazos a un precio más que conveniente ($168.00)Se anuncian como "Vic Firth V240 Bell Kit Mallets", pero no tienen marca alguna en las varillas, sólo una pegatina en la bolsa de empaque con la leyenda "V.F. PERC KIT MALLET PAIR"; por lo que pudiera sospecharse que no son auténticos Vic Firth.En mi opinión, lo que importa es que cumplen muy bien su función: tiene un buen peso, se sienten equilibrados al tocar, la madera de las varillas se ve de muy buena calidad, la punta es dura, de plástico, y está muy bien acoplada a la varilla. Los uso en un glockenspiel de 30 notas y producen sonidos bien definidos y brillantes. Hasta ahora, no les he encontrado nada negativo. El único comentario que tengo es que aún no puedo creer que llegaran íntegros, pues fueron empacados en un sobre de burbujas plásticas sin ningún tipo de soporte rígido para proteger a las delgadas varillas de madera de alguna ocasional quebradura. Y sí, las volvería a comprar.

These are good mallets. They sound great. Just a little incident when the top of one mallet came flying off as my child was playing in a concert. Little comical. i just simply super glued it back on and it has been fine for a month now.

Wonderful. High quality. Only problem (and this is really more of a problem with my percussionist than it is with the product itself) is that it fits very easily into a pencil sharpener. I would buy again but keep an eye on younger, precocious children. :)

I have no experience with Bell Kits so the only help i can give is that these mallets are sturdy. They are not fragile. They get the job done! They are also cheaper than any music store I could find but just from my point of view they appear to be equal in quality.

I'm not an overly aggressive player, but within four months, the heads of both mallets had fallen off. The first one broke on stage and I had to keep going with just the one. Then the same thing happened to the other mallet a few weeks later during a rehearsal. Save your money for somthing more durable.

I'm the furthest thing from a professional tuned percussionist; I just got these because I play the glockenspiel in my cruddy local band. These mallets were a big improvement over the Bic lighters I was using previously to strike the keys.Unfortunately, after a few hours of (possibly overenthusiastic) use, one of the heads fell off one of the mallets. This was easy enough to fix--temporarily by stuffing the hole with a bit of foam ear plug to make a tight fit and permanently using super glue--but still annoying.
