Had a small bulls eye in the windshield so just bought this kit thinking all kits just resins. Had similar product in the past so it should an easy install. Followed instruction and at first it worked well. 2nd day going to work, at the end the work day found the bulls eye started a large crack that's about a foot long. Car is parked under some tree shade but probably the heat still ended up causing it to expand the resin at a different rate than the surrounding glass.Tldr : garbage product. Made bulls eye worse. Now I have to replace the entire glass

Oh my gosh, i am flabbergasted at how well this stuff worked! I had a rock hit my windshield and it started to “star”. I was so bemmed and figured there goes another $400 down the drain,I just happened to look this product up and figured it wouldn’t hurt to try it for that price. I am blown away at how well it worked! It is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this product! Thanks SO much!

Here’s my pros & cons.Pro: 1. Good materials . The plastic in the frame and injection parts is a good choice. It is strong enough for its purpose and the dried resin from can be removed from it easily enough. Suction cups are flexible and work well.2. The resin seems to be good for this application. Chrystal clear and It flows well into the cracks and cures in sunlight. Within 20 minutes it cured hard to the touch and still allowed shaving it flat with soapy water and the included razor blade.3. The kit includes plenty of everything you need to repair several windshields. AND it is all packaged well with 4 black bottles of resin -sealed from leaks and sunlight.4. The included instruction sheet is just barely acceptable.CONS: 1. The injection tube and bridge assembly are molded with threads that barely engage. I could not get the tube to apply pressure and seal against the glass before the threads skipped out of the bridge. I used 5 minute epoxy to permanently mount the tube into the bridge section at a good height. Photo attached. Without adding the epoxy I couldn’t have used this kit.2. The pressure plunger had a raised seam line that allowed resin to seep out without pressurizing well into the glass crack. I added extra resin twice trying to get it into the crack. Only partially successful. But the resin penetrated somewhat and the crack was almost invisible when done.

First I need to mention I foolishly purchased this windshield repair kit looking only at the high rating without reading the reviews. After receiving the windshield repair kit and attempting a repair with horrible results, I returned here to read the reviews and discovered the positive reviews are for a muffler. Not sure if that was done by someone in error or if it's a deliberate attempt to attach this horrible windshield repair kit to a highly rated product. As for the kit, let's start with the odor - a very strong chemical smell upon opening the package. One of the vials of repair solution had leaked everywhere. My nostrils began to burn after being exposed to the fumes. Still needing a chip repair, I discarded the faulty vial and attempted to read the instructions which appeared to be very poorly translated, I'm assuming from Chinese. For example, it referred to the rock chip as "the wound." But even then the instructions are difficult to follow and force you to make assumptions on how it's supposed to work. The pressure piston doesn't provide any pressure to the pressure chamber. The repair solution leaks past the piston completely. In the end you're left with a sub-standard repair which, once cured by the sun, will prevent a proper repair with a different product.

I watched some videos on using the rainx version which is identical to this. Take notes and the job will go smoother with 2 people. It is easy to have the screw part on the plunger upside down but it flips over (a duh moment). Over all I was impressed with how easy and well it worked. There is still a tiny spot and evidence of the spread but it is 90% better and holding. Having used this kind of product before I expect it to last 3-4 years unless resins have gotten better in the last 10 years.

this is SO cheapely made that the suction cups are pretty much useless (I clean them, tried wet, soapy, etc...). Just about eveytime I start tightening the insertion, 2 of the cups would loosen. First time I then tried to press the suction down again, I ended up putting too much pressure on the round inpact causing the crack to spider and extend out! exactly what I was trying to avoid!!!I JUST replaced a cracked windshield that spidered after some time and since I got a new impact again I figure I would fill it. Now the hole I can fill pretty good (after VERY CAREFULLY NOT PUTTING ANY PRESSURE) but the spider are almost impossible to fill now....Professional use a vacum instead of putting pressure and forcing the glue down - makes sense.THIS TOOL IS DANGEROUS and likely make it worse unless you ARE VERY VERY CAREFUL but then it barely works at best. waste of time and money...

This windshield repair kit was pretty straightforward to use. The suction cup/resin insertion apparatus worked reasonably well. I don't know if it was human error on my part, but the chip was not 100% filled, as you will see in the photo. It was difficult to know whether I had placed the suction cup/resin insertion apparatus in the best location on the windshield.I left the curing film on the windshield for a few days, as I did not have a UV light and my car was parked in a location that doesn't receive much sunlight. It took about 30 minutes to fill the chip with resin, and then 15 minutes to remove the curing film and scrape the residual resin off the chip's surrounding with the provided razor blade.I am glad that the kit has 3 more bottles of resin, so I can use it again if I have another chip.
