About this item

  • 【for Fujifilm X-mount】Prime wide-angle lens is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 35mm equivalent focal length. Due to its physical design, this lens is not suitable for use on the FUJIFILM X-Pro3 camera and may scratch the camera body if attached.
  • 【Auto Focus】STM stepping motor enables quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. Additionally, an internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during use for improved handling and quicker response.
  • 【Large Aperture】Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.
  • 【HD Nano】Two extra-low dispersion elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve a high degree of clarity and color accuracy. Two high refractive index elements help to control spherical aberrations and reduce distortion in order to realize high sharpness and accurate rendering.
  • 【Compact and durable】 Integrated manual aperture ring for tactile exposure control; this ring also features an 'A' position for automated, camera-based aperture selection. Integrated micro-USB port can be used to update the lens's firmware.

Sharp lens. Good quality build and heavy due to the materials used, but in a good way. Fast autofocus on a xt30. I find that it gives a vignette darkness at times around the subject but I like the look when it happens. I'm often trying to take photos of my very active 4 year old and it keeps up. I do prefer my Fuji 35mm 1.4 as it is nearly the perfect lens, but I like the 23mm option when in tighter spaces. For the price you can't go wrong.

This lens works excellently with my Fuji X-T3. Image quality is great. I can create beautiful portrait with its large 1.4 aperture. Autofocus also great, and works excellently with the Fuji face/eye AF.I also appreciate the compactness and lightweight, which make it very easy to carry around.

Tried it on the Fuji XE4.There is a screen flashing, consistently it gives a bright flash in both the EVF and LCD. It's annoying and a problem with their electronics. It happened whenever changing composition, every time. This is with the latest 1.12 firmware where they state that's fixed and only affects older bodies. The XE4 is brand new this year.I compared the images against the Fuji 23mm F2 and the 27mm WR composing the images with the 27mm so it gives me same field of view. The Viltrox lens although pictured with gold writing I received the newer version with white writing. Both the Fuji lenses are sharper than the Viltrox. I tried with lens modulation on and off. Both Fuji lenses net larger files sizes holding more detail. Both Fuji lenses were shot at F4.5. The Viltrox shot at F2.8 to F4.5 and every stop in between. Same results Fujifilm’s lenses are sharper. Color on the Viltrox is good, distortion high. It's a problem the screen flashing. It's electronic and pretty sure it can't be fixed with firmware it's a hardware issue.Upgraded to the newly released firmware 1.13. Now sixty percent of the closeup images are not in focus. XE4 set to release only on focus. Set at F3.2 for the outing. Focus way off.Look at the lens mount of the original gold lettered version VS the white. Because of issues they had with some bodies they changed the mount. They cut away 5 areas of the outer ring on the mount to make way for changes so it would not damage fuji bodies. The only part of the lens mount on the new white lettered version that touches the fuji body is the small most inside ring in the lens mount. So dust can get into the body through these new cutouts for the screws and usb. This is only on the fuji viltrox lenses for other manufacturers the full lens mount is intact. They have done the same grinding of the lens mount on the 33mm and 85mm. Do a search on the net of Viltrox old Mount vs new mountThat's my experience with Viltrox.

If you are looking for a fuji alternative lense then this is it! The most unique feature of all viltrox lenses are they can be further updated by firmware

This is the first prime lens I ever bought and it's surprisingly good for photos. I don't know how it compares personally to the Fuji equivalent, but all the reviews I've seen have said it is as good or better than it.For video, it's a bit annoying to use if you leave the camera on auto aperture or shutter speed because it is quite noisy when switching. Also, for video I could not recommend this lens because when going from light to dark scenes, you can see it stepping up and down and it doesn't look like a smooth transition. Maybe they can fix this in a firmware update. For the price though, this lens is great for the 23mm focal length and can hold its own against the Fuji 23mm. For now, I'd say buy it for photos, but not video until they sort out the aperture switching issues otherwise stay on full manual control.

This lens exceeded my expectations. Auto focus is very fast, although it is not the quietest. The manual focus ring and aperture ring are very smooth and precise. The image quality is very good and it is very sharp. The lens and hood materials feel very good quality. In general I am very satisfied with this lens and the best thing is its price.

Wow I’m glad I bought this lens. I read and watched others reviews and took a chance. Its a well built, sharp lens with great AF. Works great for photo & video. I think I’m going to sell my Fuji 23mm lens.My background is that I’ve had a photography company for 17 years, I shoot with Nikon full frame cameras & lenses. For travel & every day I’d much rather shoot w/ my Fuji mirrorless system. They are, fun, lightweight and I love the film look straight out of the camera.I have shot with really good Nikon and Fuji glass and I can say that this lens a very good value. I’ve paid more than double for lenses that arent half as good. The only negatives as others have mentioned are the minimum focus distance could be better (like 15.7”) & it has some vignetting at larger apertures. Both of those issues are easy to deal with. I actually like vignetting sometimes. You can also remove it easily in Photoshop or LR.The positives are sharp photos, great out of focus areas, subject separation, quick & accurate autofocus for photo and video, quiet AF, great build quality and excellent low light performance. The 23mm (35mm equiv) is a great focal length too. It’s great for landscapes, walk around/ travel, wide portraits , cars, music performance, video, vlogging and more. For around $300 its a steal! I’m probably going to now buy the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 which has received many good reviews also. Well done Viltrox. Finally a 3rd party stepping up for Fuji! I can’t wait to see what else they come out with.

Here I was, ready to pull the trigger on buying the Fuji 23 F2, when I noticed the Viltrox 23 F1.4. After doing my due diligence and researching different reviews, I thought, why not? If it didn't live up to the hype, I could always return it. Well, long story short, I'm keeping it! It's tack sharp, with great color rendition. Sure, there is a bit of chromatic aberration, and vignetting shot wide open, but I've had other, much more expensive lenses that had those same minor issues. The Bokeh isn't bad either. In fact, I bought this to pair with my Fuji F1.2 for portrait photos. It's good for so much more though. And the autofocus works flawlessly on my X-T2. The only thing that takes getting used to is the clickless aperture, it's easy to change it by accident. You just have to be mindful of your f-stop, and if you really just want to shoot it wide open to get the maximum bokeh, a piece of gaffers tape will keep the aperture ring where you want it. Did I mention it's all metal construction, Including the lens hood?If you desire the Fuji 23 F1.4, but can't afford the price, give the Viltrox 23 F1.4 a try. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.
