This bridge is great. I didn't want to have to drive 2 hours away to have a luthier fashion me one, so I took a chance and ordered despite steep price, and a couple bad reviews saying the bridge was too high. Well I got the size medium, through it on the violin and it fit like a glove. Very Satisfied.

My old bridge was bent. I purchased this one in hopes it would be an easy fix. I put it on and the violin sounds beautiful!Thank you for making the product of good quality.I hesitated to spend this much money for the bridge, seeing others so much less expensive. I believe it was worth the extra expense.

My son has an inexpensive violin that needed a new bridge. This self-adjusting bridge was perfect. It was easy to install and the violin actually sounds better! This option was less expensive then taking it to a luthier for a custom fit bridge. If you are an advanced player with a nice instrument, I would go to a luthier and get the custom fit bridge.

It was very well bubble-wrapped in the delivery bag that came. So, its not bent, snapped, or warped. I don't know much about bridges, but I'd say this is a pretty good beginner bridge. If you're looking for something better, go to an actual music store where the experts are.

I picked this bridge up after my last bridge snapped while I was trying to adjust it.Major pros.* This bridge comes pre-notched for strings. This means that on the top of the bridge, there are little indents that your strings slot into. Some bridges I have purchased in the past do not come with this.* The installation was simple - within 10 minutes I had it in and my strings tuned up, and I have never installed a bridge myself before.Minor con.* The installation instructions state to have the 'trademark' face the fingerboard when installing the bridge. There were imprints on both sides of the bridge for me - one was the Glaesel logo, the other was a smaller, circular logo. I assumed the trademark referred to the Glaesel labeled side. I installed it this way and it seems fine.Other notes.* After installation my bridge is slightly bent towards the fine tuners, and I assume this is expected with a self adjusting bridge. The feet are flush with the violin.* I do get a different tone than my original bridge. I find that this bridge actually tones the treble down a slight amount, which I personally like better than my old bridge.* I am not a professional - just a hobbyist player. I expect that if you have a nicer violin or are looking to play professionally you talk with a violin repair shop.

Costs more than a standard blank but you can install it right away unlike a standard blank. However, it totally changes the way my violin sounds. In my case, it doesn't sound as good as it does with the bridge that the violin came with. Since this bridge is adjustable, there are two issues. The feet are separate from the rest of the bridge (to allow pivoting), which means that it won't carry the vibrations down to the body quite as well. Also, the feet don't make great contact because they're flat. I haven't tried sanding down the feet for better contact yet. Also, this bridge is considerably thicker than the bridge that my violin came with. Because of those factors, my usually rich and bright violin sounds comparatively hollow and muted. With that said, it does what it needs to do. If the bridge you had didn't suit your violin to begin with, you could find that this bridge functions even better than the original. However, you might be surprised what kind of difference a blank selected for your specific violin can make. I wouldn't recommend this as your permanent bridge, but I give it 4 stars for functionality. I'm using this until I get a proper replacement for my original bridge, which was starting to warp.
