Had a bunch of old pictures and recipes that we wanted to scan and save to the computer so we didn't loose them. Crazy fast scanning and did a great job with both the pictures and old recipes. It sits nicely on my desk without taking up to much room. I have not had a chance to use some of the other features but for what I have scanned so far it was easy to set up and does a great job at scanning both text and images. We are going to go through all our old stuff that is hand written or old pictures and scan them so we have them for generations to come. Overall great scanner!

Absolutely amazing speed with this scanner, I love it and think I can finally archive some old notebooks and digitize them without spending days or weeks. The unit itself is mostly plastic, so I didn't care for that very much, especially the different ways you can fold and do things, its subject to breakage over time OR with someone who's rough on things. Scanning resolution is decent, but the software bundle is odd in the sense that at least 1 of them says you can only install once, and cannot be moved to another computer. Well, that's annoying, my current laptop is on its way out -- so I can't reinstall when I get a new one. That's just wrong if you ask me. Otherwise, I am very happy I have a newer and more modern scanner, yay!

The Visioneer PH70 is a well designed, well built, sheet-fed scanner that does very well digitizing documents, but when it comes to digitizing photos, it unfortunately falls short. It lacks detail, color depth, and tends to exaggerate hues of red color. It's auto-cropping capabilities is marginal at best. You will need to hand crop ever photo. The driving software is also marginal with no real color adjustments. The customer support staff is very good as they helped answer all of my questions when trying to tweak the settings. But again, when the scanner is limited in its ability to capture "quality" photos, you are left with undesirable results. I was disappointment having to return the scanner.

The slides that hold documents or pictures are flimsy and didn't appear capable to hold the amount of documents or pictures as claimed on the website. We didn't load more than 10 pictures at a time as the slide, holders, allowed the pictures to move around and made it difficult to get a good scan.

I've been using a competing desktop scanner for years, but with the need for a refresh looming, I decided to try out the Visioneer PH70 document/photo scanner. What prompted me to make the switch was its capability to scan photos, something my old scanner lacked, causing me to resort to a cumbersome flatbed scanner for that task.The Visioneer PH70 turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I put it through its paces, scanning numerous 4x6 and 8x10 photos without a hitch. The print quality was exceptional, rivaling that of consumer-grade printers. The scanner effortlessly handled a batch of around 35 pictures, maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout.Transitioning to documents, the scanner continued to impress. It swiftly processed approximately 100 documents, effortlessly converting them into the PDF format I required. Its ability to handle various document sizes, from small receipts to larger legal documents, was particularly noteworthy.One of the standout features of the PH70 is its compact design, which belies its capabilities. It neatly protects its interior from dust and dirt, ensuring longevity and reliability. Additionally, the scanner operates quietly compared to my previous model, making for a more pleasant scanning experience.Setting up the scanner was a breeze. Straight out of the box, following the simple instructions and installing the software had me up and running in no time. The scanning output quality was excellent, delivering crisp, clear results consistently.Initially hesitant due to its higher price point and unfamiliar brand, I was quickly won over by the PH70's performance and functionality. The option to download the latest software upon installation further assured me of its reliability and future-proofing.My only concern was that this unit does not have a network capable jack on the back of the unit to help those that need to transfer the scanned documents directly over the network to an awaiting printer.Overall, the Visioneer PH70 scanner exceeded my expectations. It's a game-changer for anyone seeking efficiency, reliability, and top-notch scanning quality with ease of use. If you're in the market for a document/photo scanner, I highly recommend giving the PH70 a chance—it's sure to meet and exceed your needs, just as it did mine.

This is a really great document scanner. The picture quality is very crisp. It scans very quietly and quickly. It is small and doesn't take up very much space. This is a very high quality document scanner.
