Great regulator, works as described. Definitely recommend. It does Improve charging the electrical system and prevent under- or over-charging of the battery. It has high-quality aluminum casing and heat-dissipating silicone to increase the service life of the rectifier.

The engine I tried to fix has an alternator problem that the current generation is rather high, pretty much close to the upper limit of the regulator around 13 Amp or so. Given the mileage engine and my limited time, we decided not to fix the alternator and replace the burned-out regulator. This one has 15 Amp limit and works quite stable so far. The performance satisfied our needs.

This was a perfect fit on my Kohler engine on my UTV. It bolted on and plugged in with no issues at all and I'm off and running. I'm going to pick up another one to have on hand just incase but I've had no issues at all.

I have a very old Simplicity Landlord 7114 garden tractor with a Kohler engine that I use to pull trailers around and nothing else.The battery that was installed was very old and burned out eventually burned out the original voltage regulator.Ordered this one and it was an exact match to the plug, and once the engine started running it started charging the battery. It also fit the same mounting pattern as the original which is great.Definitely recommend this as long as have an idea of what you're doing when it comes to small engine repair.

Recently helped a few friends with their tractors. It is a very common problem when the battery fails while the battery diagnosis shows the battery is still good. After some study, I tried to replace the regulator with this one. The installation is very easy with basic tools-screwdriver. And the battery can be charged normally after this replacement. It is quite impressive such a small part can be so critical for the normal operation of the big machine.

This voltage regulator proved identical to the OEM model on my aging 18 hp Kohler tractor engine, right down to the cooling fins and mount spacing. A ten minute swap out and the flickering insufficient charge light has been rectified, literally. Price and performance makes this unit worth all 5 stars.
