Some of these isolators are constructed with COMMON GROUNDS. Not this one. This is perfect, and well-suited for use on balanced professional audio systems.I often use these in broadcast studios to convert an unbalanced (RCA-type) consumer audio device to a professional, BALANCED audio signal (where neither the + nor - signals use ground reference), or vice-versa, to convert balanced to unbalanced. This unit is almost identical to an isolator made by Radio Shack many moons ago.
