'97 Jetta. I clamped this pipe onto my old cat successfully after peeling and grinding off the rust flakes that were the old pipe. I used two clamps at each joint because I felt leaks after installing with just one clamp. The clamps at the rear of this pipe hit a small support piece that ties the body together at midline. I had to grind the bolts off at the nuts on the clamp. That makes it only tap occasionally at certain combinations of engine speed and body position on a hill or whatever. I could grind the nuts a little bit and probably make it stop completely. The parts were cheap, the install was easy and the car is factory quiet again, so it's all good. Haven't had a rust belt winter yet to assess durability.

There was NO "package" at all... the UPS label and "packing slip" was stuck on the pipe... both ends of the pipe are out of round and will require repair, with a tool I don't have, before it will be serviceable... whoever fulfilled this order for Amazon are IDIOTS... unless you have a pipe expander, don't waste your time or money!
