I haven't tried this yet because it's a gift but I've always favored giving a useful gift & I believe this fits the bill. I gave this watermellon dicer 3 stars because the bottom of the fork it a bit rough but the top of the folk is smooth where you wrap your hand to hold.

I used it for camping and that is an awesome piece for camping too. Next, we will be trying that for watermelon but I'm sure that will work great.

So I got this thing today and my wife immediately go excited and went to work on this watermelon end piece. It's almost all gone now, and this thing saved me a lot of hard work with large, heavy, sharp knives converting the watermelon to a format that is readily edible. My wife has bad shoulders and cutting a watermelon into edible portions was out of the question for her. Now I just have to get the thing open and she can pretty effortlessly scoop to her hearts content.I do have a couple of very minor criticisms of the design. When we saw this thing our first thought was that she could just sit down with the slicer, cut a chunk, flip the tool and use the fork to shovel it her mouth. You CAN do that, and she did, but there are a couple of caveats: The edges of the metal on the fork end are pretty rough and you need to be careful not to cut yourself. It would be nice if they did a little more machining on this to smooth things out. Also she ended up with watermelon juice running down her arm when she used it this way. I don't have a specific design recommendation to fix that problem, but I think it is worth figuring out. As it is, it is great if you just want to cut chunks or slices and put them in something else to serve and eat out of or just use a different fork for the actual eating part.Anyway, I think it is a great product, if not totally perfect, and my wife loves it! Highly recommend!
