Getting the bolts off of the truck was the hardest part. 20min for one side and 35min for the other. Wife can now easily get into my truck. Highly recommended

Absolutely perfect!!! They came undamaged and quicker than I imagined. All the hardware and mounting instructions were included as indicated. I installed them myself and they look and work exactly as they should. I am not a mechanic, but there are only six bolts per side for installation. I would highly recommend this product and love the added width of the four inch vs the three inch standard. These are definitely worth buying if you are in need of a set of nerf bars. You can install them yourself, just be sure to have a cheater pipe or break over handle for removal of the body mount bolts. I highly recommend!!!

Advertised rebate not honored. Provided all of the necessary documents and submitted in plenty of time. Westin did not send the promised rebate. Kept all copies and submitted to Westin for followup. They said a rebate claim should have been paid and would resubmit. Six months later still no rebate and their site says I don't exist in their system. Good product but false advertising.

Just what I was looking for, they dont stick out to far, they are very sturdy, simple install needed a little muscle to get body bolts out, but very happy overall.

My 12 year old son installed these bars with very minimal help from me. I taught him how to "break" the frame bolts and attach the mounts for the step bar. Great height, price, and if they eventually rot I will just replace them with the same ones. I love the look on my black Silverado 1500. If you don't mind lying on your back in the driveway first bar took roughly 3 hours, second bar was less than an hour. You will need to make sure you have correct sockets (listed on packaging) to make process smooth. Love them.Pro- Awesome, gloss black, easy install.Con- not stainless steel so they will eventually rust over time,

I just bought a new black Chevy Siverado with 20" wheels. My wife had trouble getting in and out of the truck so I started looking for step bars. With few exceptions, the chrome bars I saw on most trucks looked small and not very sturdy. I researched for a week and decided on the Westin. After arriving in two days, I was surprised at the quality...of course I picked the black bars. They were heavy and much bigger than I expected. The mounting instructions left plenty to be desired. The pictures looked like 3rd generation xerox copies. I found instructions online with better pictures, but after laying the bars by the truck, there was only one logical way for them to be installed. The mounting pieces are solid and the bars fit perfectly. It took me about 45 minutes to install because the bolts on my truck were hard to turn. This is a quality product that looks like it was built for my truck.

Update - Sept 2013: These have been on my truck for nearly a year now and have held up very well. Very strong and supportive, and no scratches even tho' I live on a gravel road. I highly recommend these bars. These bars fit the '13 Silverado extended cab just fine. (Note that Chevy plans what they're calling a 13-&-a-half model next year.) It took me about 90 minutes with a 3' cheater bar to get the body/frame bolts out and the mounting brackets bolted back in. Most of that time was just muscle work. The instructions were worthless. Period. Any backyard mechanic can figure out this installation easily. The mounting brackets are metal-stamped with the location of the bracket, as in DF for driver side front, PC for passenger side center, etc. This helpful fact is not mentioned in the instructions. For the Silverado the bars are different for either side as the center bracket is not centered. The longer dimension between the center hole and end goes to the front. I used red permatex threadlock to lock the bolts in place. My wife says the step bars are great improvement! Mission accomplished.

I installed these on my 2003 Silverado extended cab. After getting married and upgrading from 33" to 35" tires, I had to get something for her to get in the truck without having to pole vault (she's 5'1)!!Received everything needed. The directions were fairly limited, but the equipment is fairly self explanatory. There was no need for a torque wrench as some reviewers have suggested and installed in a snap with just a socket wrench and three different sockets.I had the bars sprayed with Tuff Skin bedliner to avoid scratches and to match a few other accessories I have. They look beefy and feel durable!
