Installed on a 2002 F150 Supercrew. Instructions were fine. Let you know which bracket goes where. Gives you plenty of nuts and bolts to make it work. It could have used a few more clip nuts though. I did have to drill a few holes. The bracket didn't line up with any holes, other than the front bracket. I drilled holes in the bracket to make it fit, as opposed to drilling holes in the truck. 4 inch nerf bar steps that I already had from Rough Country bolted right on. Not a bad universal side step mounting bracket kit.

The box arrived ripped, so I opened the box and counted the nuts and bolts. every thing was bagged but was retapped closed. when I counted the I was short, so I contacted the seller to replace the bolt kit. They did not have a replacement so offered me discount on the purchase. I accepted begrudgingly as the missing hardware was expensive to buy, more than the discount. All in all they were very helpful and I would have scored them higher if I would have gotten all the missing pieces replaced...

I installed a pair of westin tubes almost 10 years ago. After they rusted off, I got the aluminum sure step and this installation kit. Probably the worst instructions I have ever seen. Seriously, how hard is it to write some decent instructions. I could spend 10 minutes and write a better set of instructions. After you get one side done, you figure it out. The worst offense is that the brackets aren't engineered to fit correctly. The bracket will bend the lower lip of the sheet metal as you tighten down the bolts. It should have been at 90 degrees, but it is at about 80 degrees so the thin metal is stressed. The bolts are barely big enough to get threaded, because of the incorrectly engineered bracket. Once you finally get it threaded, it starts to bend the metal out. Like the other poster mentioned, the self tapping screws are barely long enough and you have to be very delicate while drilling and set the clutch on the drill low so you don't drill out the hole completely like I did on my first hole. I'm not convinced it will hold. I may tack weld the brackets on if it gets loose. I'm not thrilled about drilling holes in my truck. There are plenty of factory holes and options that should have been utilized. I wish I had gone with a different option/brand. With stressed metal and questionable self tapped screws, not sure how long this will last. I'm pretty sure I will need to weld these on at some point, if I don't just rip them off and start with a different brand. This is on a 2001 F150 supercrew.

Very poor written instructions. Almost like #1- install #2 - spanish on reverse side. And the sleeves that are included with the boards are impossible to install, now I know why I never see them on trucks! Oh and this is AFTER the wrong kit was chosen and sent by Amazon help. Ad said " NO DRILL " I am disabled and had to hire to install and ended up on a lift in order to drill all the holes! I doubt the brackets will stay on through the winter. If I didn't already have so much invested before I even installed I would have returned and bought a lower truck!

In the instructions it says that you will use existing holes in the truck. We had an early 1997 F150 ext cab truck, it had no factory holes, we had to drill our own. The self tapping screws they give you are too short to work. They don't have enough threads once you go through the mounting bracket, and the backing plate. We had to get some new screws. Other than that, it was pretty straight forward.
