the step running boards the thickness of the steel and welds look to be of high quality. However protective e-coating or powder is not the best. Coverage on the primary steel was ok but on the welds it is poor. If my wife hadn't like the running board so much and wanted them installed i would have sent the mounting bracket back. If these are going to last i am definitely going to be taking them off this spring have them sand blasted and coated

Bought this kit for a 2016 Durango...the instructions are horrible...very, very vague. Had to drill extra holes, enlarge 2 since they didn't align with the OEM hole to be used. This kit really is not meant for this truck. They warn you that it might not fit because the lower cladding on the truck...but it's their way of not redesign the kit for the newer 2013 and up Durangos. I had to drill 4 new holes to extend the board towards the outside of the truck to clear the cladding (rocker panel) for it to fit. The boards themselves are nice hence the reason I modified them to fit. They do look good when installed.

Necessary to mount the running boards. But not only a necessity, they add nice detail to the boards and make the vehicle look stylish and not overdone.

Custom fit my 11' Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, 5.7 L Hemi. Make of strong steel and fit my vehicle with little installation effort. Provide a solid base for my 27-6115 running boards.

The Westin 27-1645 was recommended for my 2012, I received ones for a Cherokee/Durango.....that were not a match. I then ordered the "Correct" mount kit 27-1645, which was also recommended for my 2012 Tahoe. It did fit on the driver side, but not on the passenger side. The brake lines run down that side and the brackets do not fit. They are the correct brackets, that every company recommends, but do not fit the passenger side. Westin said they have never had an issue. I did take it to a professional accessory installation co. and they advised it wouldn't fit...........................................Now What ? Love the "running board"., but only one can be installed....someone help me.

These brackets for the 2012 Durango Crew model are a little tricky to install. The back two brackets require that you drill through the plate steel of the under-carriage to create two more holes from scratch--but if you have the bottom plastic beauty-covers like I do you'll find that drilling those two holes is an enormous pain in the neck. Literally.Once the bracket holes are all drilled and prepped the rear mounts are also about 1/8" too short causing a very difficult alignment issue with the carriage bolt and the two stabilizing bolts on the crimped steel you just drilled through.Outside of those two annoyances these brackets are very sturdy, are well engineered, and perform as they should.
