First time ever to install one but glad I did. The factory repair manual is easily found online. The original ice maker plate split in the middle and blew up like a ballon.You need tools or have friends that have them. You can rent but then you might as well call a service guy. It looks harder than it really is. Just keep the bends the same when you pull the old one out for reference. I added a new dryer (new ones have a built in high side valve) while I was at it for twenty bucks which made the install easier. Flushed out with nitrogen before brazing it all back together.Total time took about two hours. Bought all the parts off amazon. Would do it again. Was able to clean it up to factory condition without some service guy hanging around.You need more than basic DIY tools and knowledge to perform this task. If you want to learn this an excellent project to take on. You will save a boatload in the future and have fun while your doing it yourself.
