The JH Williams ST-818 9/16-Inch shallow 8 point socket has an overall length of 1 1/2-Inches and a 1/2-Inch drive. It has a high polished chrome finish. The super torque lobular openings for greater turning power without deforming the fastener. The 8 point sockets are designed for quick engagement on 4 point fasteners.

This socket is made well, and gets the job done. It is not Snap-on quality, but it doesn't come with the Snap-on price either.I recommend it.

Bought because the head for the fill bolt was a odd style and a typical socket pattern would not work. Good to have in your tool box if you have a NA miata.

This is the only size/style socket that I could find that fits the square-headed Miata transmission fill plug perfectly. I am not sur why they used that bolt in that hole; but, this will remove it.

I used this to remove the transmission fill plug on my NA Miata (1992 five speed). Worked perfectly for that task, not sure if I'll run into anything else I need to use it for.

The correct tool for removing the BSP differential filler and drain square male plug from a Jaguar E Type. I could not find a UK supplier of one of these. Worked well

My boat has a notched transom and there is no room to fit a wrench when the boat is on the trailer and have tried 12 point sockets with marginal success. My bother in-law suggested an 8 point socket (did not even know these existed) and ordered this socket. The socket fits perfectly on the square end of the drain plug. I now have no problems re & re my boats drain plug!

this is a very nice socket. i use 8 point sockets on a regular basis and the quality of this particular socket is very high. i have used other brands of these sockets and they do not come close to the quality of this one. it is well worth the price i paid i have not been disapointed and i would recommend this to any professional or do it yourself mechanic.
