I purchased 3 of these boxes, 2 through Amazon and one from Woodchuck direct. Nothing but maple, walnut and cherry, disappointing for sure but on the bright side the boxes were full and most are usable. To become honest they do say at least 2 species and I got a bunch of great wood, just don't expect the bloodwood, purplehearte, oak, ash, poplar, cedar, basswood, and many other speces. You will get 2 or more species.

I’m really pleased with the Woodchucks Large Scrap Box—it's a great value for anyone who enjoys working with wood! The box I received included a nice assortment of long rip cut pieces, which are perfect for various woodworking projects. The quality and variety of wood types were impressive. I was especially excited to find a generous amount of black walnut and cherry, with some oak, a piece of maple, and even a piece of cedar mixed in.The cuts are clean, and the pieces are in excellent condition, making them ideal for smaller projects, accent pieces, or experimenting with new techniques. Whether you’re into woodturning, carving, or making segmented bowls, this scrap box provides plenty of material to get creative. It’s a great way to experiment with different types of hardwood without committing to buying larger, more expensive boards.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the mix, quality, and value of this scrap box. If you're a woodworker looking for a good variety of hardwoods for small projects, this is definitely worth picking up!

My husband loved this wood! I loved the colors. We used it to make this butcher block table for my sister's Christmas present🥰 My daughter chose the sequence of the wood and said it was an Ombre design scheme. Great product with so many different possibilities. Ours became this table.

Nice variety but some of the pieces were unusable. Then again, it is what it is, scraps. With some milling, many were usable for small projects. For the price, it was okay.

I'm not a professional wood worker just do it as a hobby and my knowledge is far less than many on here. I got a box of a few varieties of wood that were really fun to work with. For someone like me that is looking to experiment with a wide variety of wood and make interesting projects, this was exactly what I was looking for. There was enough to make Two nice cutting boards, some coasters and several other small projects. I just ordered a second box.

When I ordered this, it was about two weeks before Christmas. Somehow or other, the original package got lost in a USPS warehouse and never arrived. I contacted the company, and they sent out a replacement fairly quickly with no hassle, and a very nice assortment of wood, too. My box contained eight 18" pieces: one 1x6 and two 1x3 sections of Purple Heart, one 1x6 of Darina, two 1x6 pieces of what looks like Wenge (these were the only unlabeled pieces), and one 1x6 each of IPE and Green Heart.Obviously it's always luck of the draw depending on what pieces they have on hand, but I feel it's a good value. The quality of the wood grain and color on my pieces suggests that even pieces of wood like Oak or Maple would probably be of very high quality as well.

Super disappointed - I know it's a random grab bag but this isn't 'random' at all..There is very little hardwood included - A majority of pine, a couple pieces of veneer thin cracked walnut, and mostly knotty and warped pine and oak cut offs, one piece of knotty maple and some other pieces too small to use..Couple unusable pieces of red cedar , likely to kill of the moldy musty smell of the whole box. Virtually nothing is usable in this box for any projects. Was hoping to get a little more assortment, as per the pic advertising, but you get what you pay for :( .. go to your local cabinetry shop to buy cut offs, at least you will be sure they are of usable size and species. Definitely would not order again
