This is well made product. Would have kept it but the description say it fits the Yamaha classic and it does not. Make sure you measure for the mounting to make sure the bolt holes line up. If you have to return you will be charged to return this item if you have to.

I bought it for my 2002 yamaha vstar 650 classic and the attachment bracket is too short.

Been doing more 2 up riding recently so thought to give this a try. Not because it was the best, but because I found it on Amazon. I digress.Technicals:Setup was complete and well packed, with Allen bolts, nylon locking nuts, and chrome cap nuts.Backrest has its hardware capturedYou may want to assemble first an then place on bikeQuality/Details:I'll nitpick this in hopes it best articulates qualities.Material used is lower grade than what is found on a VStar, something like whats found on a snowmobileStitching on backrest isn't even or straightMetal is thinner than expected (but doesn't seem to compromise safety)Chrome finish is not as brilliant as my 20yo VStarA bit more reclined than expectedFoam back is dense and qualityInstallation:After some poking around everything lined up and went together as expected. Hardware was smooth and worked as expected. If you have saddle bags currently, you'll be able to utilize your current longer bolts.Ride:Visuals- the bike looks great. More finished and I always appreciate carry space.Performance- the position is relaxed and would be pretty fair for a 2-3 hour ride. The recline offers a variety of seating positions for the passenger I suppose, wife is still trying to get used to it.Overall I'd give it 4 stars, but anything less than a 5 star review wouldn't do it justice, because it it is a fair, middle of the road solution that provides comfort and safety off of Amazon. For what you find here, you'll be hard pressed to do better.

I have a china bike that just made it to the US this year and it's hard to find things that fit correctly. This thing will work even if I have to put an extra hole in it and that's exactly why I ordered it. Thanks a ton, went together quick and easy just looking at the pictures online.
