The prop was perfect. Looked exactly like the the old one just better. The only difference is my prop. Nuts and locks were a bit different. I'm assuming because it was obviously older and was on for a while. The new prop has new nuts and bolts and pin lock. However, I'm concerned that the little pin lock that it comes with is that secure and it won't come off? Can anyone reply back and let me know? I just want to make sure because there's no cotter pin but this pin is like a little plate. Just want to make sure my boat is secure and the prop is. I agree with the other commenter. It was a little tough to get in and it took a bit and we had to molt it. Other than that everything flowed. Have yet to take it on the water but it spins fine. Any suggestions for making sure it's on properly and tight and locked?.

I would have given this 3.5 stars if possible as the prop looks good and was very reasonably priced however the torq hub was not easy to install. I have a 135hp I/O on my 19' runabout driving a 3 blade prop. Since the boat is primarily used for crusing about 25mph, I wanted to try using a 4 blade prop which I hoped would get me on plane at a lower RPM thereby reducing wear and tear on the engine as well as giving me better gas mileage at the same time. I saw this on Vine and as it was advertised to fit on Mercrusiers in my HP range with the same diameter and slightly smaller pitch figured this would be the perfect choice. I haven't yet installed in on my boat so I can't yet attest to how it's going to perform but I suspect it'll do exactly what I indended to do. My only complain with this prop was installation of the torq hub. I haven't installed on of these in many years but I recalled that it was pretty simple on my Mercury prop. On this one I had issues and had to refer to a YouTube video to make sure I was doing what I should be doing (I was). It's just that this hub was difficult to install. The plastic insert has to be installed first. Normally this requires a tap or two with a mallet in order to seat it. One this one I had to turn the thrust washer upside down and do a farily good job of beating it in. Once it was flush with the prop hub I turned the thrust washer over and using the smaller diameter beat the plasitc hub down below the surface so that the thrust washer seated as it was supposed to. The next step is to install the metal piece with the splines on it into the plastic hub from the other side. This too took a bit a coercing rather than just fitting in as it did on the Mercury. It did eventyally go in and everything looks good now but I don't think this should have been this difficult to install.

I got a Chevy 165hp. Straight 6 cylinder that I’m using the YOUNG PROPS 14 1/2 X17 Outboard Boat Propeller on my 23 foot crabbing boat. It’s easy to install and it’s way better than my old prop. It runs smoothly without vibrations. I’m real happy with its performance.
